    Great tip. Planning ahead always makes for a better experience.

    I have been there and let me tell you it is not fun to learn this lesson the hard way. Especially in the dark miles from your destination at -14F.

    If you plan on fishing the Duluth area in the short term, bring your waders. The slush is deep everywhere. Last report I saw said we got 23″ of snow.

    Any reports about Buchanan lake yet? I heard it was froze over, but wondering how thick the ice is getting.

    We got about 2 inches in Duluth. Winds currently NNW at 22mph are blowing it all over the place. So much for good ice on Friday.
