Drive down Lake Street from Hennepin Avenue to the river if you want to know how it’s going in Minneapolis. It’s horrible.

Cool to see him drilling up the bugs & larvae in the shallows & using them for bait.

A small towel or old T-shirt to wipe off the hands. A small forceps or the Cold Snap hook remover mentioned above. Something to flash your glow baits. I use a lot of glow especially after dark for crappies.

All of the Mpls. City Council members are far-left extremists. I can’t believe these people are running the city. It’s an odd group of idiots for sure.

Anybody seen Ilhan Omar during all of this ? ….asking for a friend

Yeah, she hates all police & says the National Guard is terrorizing the community. She’s also pro-Antifa. Read her Twitter.

I just cut mine with a scissors after 65 days. I just tried to take about 1/2″ off evenly all around. Not bad, but took over an hour. I had a 50 day quarantine beard too but that just came off.

3lb P-Line. The same line I use for ice fishing. Good stuff! Normally I would use 4lb but this line is strong. I’ve landed plenty of big walleyes, pike & bass on it.

Beautiful River Redhorse (Moxostoma carinatum) – those are not a common sight on pool 2 and a great sign of quality habitat. Most of the Redhorse in pool 2 are Silvers, Goldens and Shortheads which are less sensitive to water quality and habitat issues

I caught an almost identical Redhorse from the same area on Saturday. It hit a 4″ purple/chartreuse Moxi. I identified it as a River Redhorse also. Thanks for the confirmation & info.

My order was just canceled. I ordered a 32″ Power Noodle over a month ago. I should have done the price match from Scheels instead.

I just dropped off 36 empty bottles at the Hennepin County recycling facility. I’ve been collecting them for a few winters. Dtro who I think is a member here posted this YouTube video last year of a new “legal” refill product. I think I’m going to buy one!

Great guy & very generous! I was excited when his store opened near my neighborhood. The first time I stopped in he gave me a can of Dew for free when I asked if he sold pop. I always thought he gave me too many fatheads for the price but I wanted his business to succeed. I was recently walking around Richfield Lake (66th & Lyndale) & there are two benches with Bob Moore memorial plaques on them. I’ll post a pic later.

I had to provide a copy of my birth certificate to renew my Class A license. I did that but just received a form letter stating that I need to provide two forms of ID to prove my citizenship! No explanation for why they rejected my birth certificate & current license. Now I’m looking forward to another 2 hours waiting in line. I was born in Edina & have had a Class A for 30 years. Now they want to give illegal aliens licenses! Ridiculous.

My 55lb thrust Minnkota moves my 12′ jon boat fast, even with two guys. The only problem is it drains the battery quick running full speed for more than an hour. At lower speeds I can run it for hours. You should have plenty of power.

Good post. I agree that the first week after ice out can be the best especially for big crappies. I’ve been out on Tonka & other lakes early enough some years where I’ve had to break through some remaining ice.

Maybe get a medium heavy baitcast setup to handle bass in heavy cover along with pike. Otherwise, focus in dialing in spots and presentation and then add to the arsenal.

I agree with this. If I had your current gear I would buy a 7′ MH Fast Action Baitcaster setup next. That’s a good all-around bass/pike setup. I’m a Shimano reel guy so I’d look at whatever’s in your budget from the Caenan to the Curado.

They have about a million YOU Tube fans as a built-in customer base. Most of them are young kids & teenagers who consider them rock stars. I’ll be surprised if they sell anything better quality than the Chinese made Clam stuff. I am curious about the rod maker. I do enjoy watching their videos, especially Wiebe.

I buy P-Line from Thorne Bros. & also DH in Mound. It’s excellent line that holds up great to big fish. Last year my brother caught a mid-40’s muskie on 3 lb & I caught a 28″ walleye on 3 lb. Both were caught on Tonka fishing for panfish.

Shimano 300EJ. I currently have one spooled with 80 lb Spiderwire Stealth for muskies.
