Was out of everts on saturday, got there early so the crowd wasn’t a problem. It turned out to be a beautiful day on the water. I would say probably 100 boats from the vermillion on up to the dam. We didn’t do well but you can’t beat a day in the sunshine after a 6 month absence from the boat. Good luck.

I just read the story of star tribune website, two are in critical condition and 9 or 10 others hospitalized with broken bones and other injuries. I guess the bus driver said he stopped to make a turn at a intersection and the brakes were gone and proceeded to jump a median hit another car and then come to rest on a lightpost. Other driver that was involved was seriously hurt too. Hopefully all will be ok.
October 3, 2006 at 4:30 pm #485107I was up in sawyer county last weekend. I hate to give you a bad report but I didn’t see the upswing in the cycle that I heard from elsewhere. Spots that always produced 5 years ago we didn’t see a bird but note I was hunting all public property. Went 0-for-2 in about 6 hours of fieldwork. Mainly concentrated on bowhunting cause the grouse were slowwww! Hopefully you have better luck.
April 18, 2006 at 5:55 pm #439207I think it might be safe to say that I may make it back to Hudson just to fish for eyes early. I have both MN and WI licenses too and hope there is no issues….
March 29, 2006 at 3:12 am #434065What a BRUISER!!! nice fish boys makes me sick I cannot make it down there to take part in the fun!! Catch a couple for me!!
March 23, 2006 at 1:28 am #432448I can also only say good things about power pro. I have used it for two years now while musky fishing and fishing salmon on the great lakes. Its really not much different to me than other super braids but I have never encounter really any malfunction with the line itself(only operator error!!). I don’t know if you do any fishing on the great lakes for salmon using dipsy divers but I cannot stress enough how much it has saved me in terms of problems. Power pro has no strech making it perfect for this use. I don’t know if this helps. Good luck on the water.

November 28, 2005 at 9:06 pm #399574Good to hear the geese are on the move. After a abismal deer season(didn’t see a buck) I decided to scrap sunday and hit the marsh. It was half froze and boy did we shoot the ducks. Ended up with 9 mallards between 3 of us and probably saw about 300-400 in the air. Sure makes my week brighter after what the damn deer did to me!

~UMDWalleyeGuyOctober 2, 2005 at 3:23 am #387331Hey Fellas, Made it back to Hudson for Bow huntin’ and show solid duck opener action. Got out up in New Richmond on some prime public land. Waited though the morning for opener and saw about 200 hundred ducks flying around. Limited out in 1 hour and 30 mins(at12 noon till 1:30) thats kinda late but o well it was a great opener for how warm it was. Good shootin hope everyone else had a good day.

I have a cabin in the Hayward area. First and formost you cannot talk about muskies without mentioning the chippewa flowage. Next I would look into Lost Land Lake or Teal. Have heard of some decent fish coming from teal this year. Last but not least don’t forget LCO it seems still hold some nice fish. If you need more guidance stop at Pastikas bait shop in hayward or checkout there online forum at http://www.pastikas.com.UMDWalleyeGuy
