I put the endurance model on our camping trailer last season. They seemed to help the trailer sway less. I have been concerned about the Carlisle’s on my boat trailer since day one, so here at year 4 I put the endurance tires on it yesterday. Haven’t gone any distance yet, but feel great about speed rating and load range bump.

Great show. Watched a bunch more IDO on you tube while sorting tackle today too. Awesome afternoon really.

I have the ecoboost. I drove the 5.0 and it felt more powerful than the 5.4 I had in previous trucks. It also sounded amazing. But after pulling my boat and camper with the 5.4’s I wanted a substantial step up, and the ecoboost offers that without a gas mileage penalty. With 25,000 miles so far, it has met all my expectations. Good on gas when you keep your foot out of it and a mighty tow rig when needed.

How about a program like easygps and doing it on the PC? I have had success with it in the past.

which unit did they lock up on you? Personally, I think the place that locked it up should at least cover half of it, but it probably isn’t their fault, just one of those things that happens. I would ask them to give you a unit for cost, not for the employee price if they won’t cover half the cost. They shouldn’t be making money off the deal, and typically, employee prices still have a little bit of profit in there.

Well, if the store were to do that, they would likely stop doing any updates for customers to prevent further losses. Then somebody will feel they have poor service. It’s a no win situation.

They didn’t charge you for a service, so it really isn’t much different than it happening to you or a buddy helping you out.

Take the deal and go fish.

Been there, done that. I hit a green one a few years back just after the bridge heading toward Pepin. A horrible feeling and sight when you trim up to see what happened and there is no lower unit attached.

To make matters worse, the corp put the buoy back where it belonged, later that same day. Dooh!

Should of asked this question earlier in the conversation. So how do you guys balance your rods and reels. Seems to me depending on who you talk to they like to balance them at different point. Some where the reel contacts the rod. some where the front grip meets the blank. Others somewhere between those two points.

I put the reel on, grab it like I would fishing, and there’s your balance point. Just seems right to have it balanced out like you would be fishing it, and not with 1 finger at any given point on the rod.

I’ll add I have a 610 rage with a purist 30 on since I bought it. Just acquired a 25 purist and put it on, and became tip heavy, the overall weight is lower but with the slight strain that’s put on the wrist to hold the tip up while pitching decreases the sensitivity and long term comfort for myself. Will be going back to the 30. I’m sure its why a few pros have weights in the butt of the rod to achieve perfect balance BC when you have that not only do you feel through the fingers/hands but the wrist is now in play as well and not using any muscles to keep the tip where you need.

I find I can balance most of my rods under 6 1/2 ft with reel choice. When the rod is longer the reel weight required is often times higher than I want to use. No sense having a light a sensitive rod and the having to put a tank reel on it. So I opt for lead at the butt of the rod. Since it takes less mass when placed there you don’t have to markedly increase the weight of the overall set up.

I have two longer shimanos I really like that are very tip heavy. One took 1\2 oz of the lead in the handle and the other took 3/4.

I have an ecoboost, as does my pops, a buddy, and my father in law. They have all been fabulous. Stay off the throttle and you will see low twenties highway, high teens overall.

But don’t buy it for economy. Buy it if you want that capability combined with great towing power. Few downshifts and no drama. The motor is mighty.

As far as turbos, I’m just not worried. Cars and big trucks have used them for decades. The ecoboost has been out long enough to have bugs worked out.

You got to hand it to those indians, no matter how you feel. They took their sovereign status and said, whats the one way we can rake in money no matter how much we tick off people.

I think they figured it out by studying the lotteries. The government does the same thing. They promise you riches if you give them money and you are lucky. Heck, Minnesota even said money from the lottery would go to the outdoors.

They prey on the desperate, the weak, the illogical and the people with gambling addictions. They play for the promise of financial well being, ironically by risking your financial well being.

Its a great gig. For those who waste a lot of money on these things, they usually don’t blame the casino or the lottery system. They blame themselves. And they keep coming back for more.

Ok, that is a bit of exaggeration and not all the people who do these things are in that dire of a position, however, everyone who has played the lottery or visited casinos at the very least is wasting money on odds that are ridiculously against them.

So to the point of the OP, we can boycott on principle, but if you are boycotting, that means you probably already contributed. The system is set up to the point where it doesn’t matter, there are enough gullible or even desperate people who will go in droves because they feel lucky, that they will be the one.

Sorry if this post is off point or makes no sense. Apparently I had a lot of coffee this morning.

Let’s all transcend to a nice summer day, sun beaming down, you and some good friends relaxing on the honey hole waiting for that evening bite to kick in, what is your go to choice of beverage? Maybe a lil crown on the rocks, nice cold beer, bloodys or some fancy umbrella drinks

Just thinking of better times than now and although I usually don’t drink at all while on the hunt for the fish, later on in the day when all settles just curious to others choices. Must be 21 to comment.

I go with ice cold bud light sitting in a koozie with some bumps of schnapps passed around.

Hmm, it’s like we have fished together?!

A cold bud light and Schnapps hits for toasting “to the walleye gods!”

We are beginning to see more & more people switching to Snow tires at the dealership. They do work ! Also, the traction control is working for you when you have no idea that it is. Yeah we notice it at slower speeds… but at higher speeds, it can keep us out of what could be a 360′ spin & a flip into the ditch… without us ever knowing it

I recognize it can save our bacon. That’s probably why when you turn it all “off” (as much as you can) it turns back on at 30 mph. But the threshold of it engaging as you are starting from a stop is ridiculous. My wife’s Audi is way better and I’m sure it’s prepared to intervene as much as the Ford if I do get into trouble.

It’s a small gripe. I love the truck. The blizzaks are an insurance policy I can get home from a road trip for work, or pull my boat up an icy ramp.

I have been running dedicated snows on my wife’s car for many years, and then put a set on my f150 when I discovered the Pirellis were so awful in the snow. My wife’s cars have had blizzaks until last year we switched to Michelin ice-x. They seem just as good. Handle a little better. Maybe a little noisier.

The truck has blizzaks like yours and I agree they seem to plug up a bit in heavy snow. Mine are about wore out. Almost down to the first indicator where they say snow traction will be reduced. So I am sure that has something to do with it too. It is particularly annoying with the traction control on. I don’t know why ford put such a nanny on our trucks. If you turn it off the blizzaks spin a bit and clear more snow from their tread and dig back in.

I’m getting a new set next fall and will buy Bridgestone or Michelin.

If you were on the site posting about buying an ATV with a credit card because you didn’t have the cash, I would say bad idea.

But to the OP wanting to sell an ATV, all I would concern myself with is getting paid. So if you are comfortable with Paypals terms and such, go for it.

I just got back from a short trip and everyone is being very careful at Frontier. I guess the hole has claimed one axle so far. They say you need to launch in the absolute center of the ramp.

We skipped it and went to Birchdale. No crowds on Tuesday. We intended to boat the 15 miles back to the ice, but the lower unit failed and we ended up fishing under kicker power near Birchdale.

We caught 18 or so. Almost all were caught on plastics. The pulse r being the best producer. Pitching them and working them downstream was the best for us. Biggest fish was a healthy 27″. We had a blast despite the early breakdown.

I had a 2009 F-150 with the 5.4 V8 and recently traded for a 2013 Ecoboost. The sound of the 5.0 is awesome. It is smooth and peppier than my old 5.4 for sure. I bought the Ecoboost for the extra torque pulling the family camper and the max tow package. It has turned in good mileage for the power it provides at 17 mpg average for its 5000 miles so far. But you are right, you can’t justify the price difference in gas.

Your results may vary, but I bought the large for my 19’8″ Triton fiberglass. The medium would not consistently hold in river current, so I upsized. It’s bulky, but not too bad.

Spotlock is my anchor of choice now.
