If you have the laptop version of Autochart (autochart Pro) you have the option of viewing bottom hardness and vegetation. which is recorded via SI. I dont use that function. but letting you know its available.

From the manual. Reverse for disassembly.
Manual available at Cannon for download

    “Assemble Swivel Head To Boom
Insert the telescopic boom-end into the boomalign holes and fasten in place with a #8 x 5/8
screw. Spread the swivel head side plates and
slip the assembly over the boom end axle. Snap
the assembly together and install two #4 x 1/2″
    screws into the swivel head.”

We stayed at Cottonwood Suites in Glasgow, about 20 minutes away from the marina.

How was your stay at cottonwood suites? Nice Motel? Were you comfortable with your boat in the parking lot?
We usually camp. I like my boat right by the camper. never did the hotel thing because of that. But I’m not really interested in pulling a camper and a boat that distance. Thanks for any info.

Any idea how much they are worth? I’m not a collector, so I’d either attach a fly reel and use them for hole-hopping shallow water or just sell them. My buddy was going to throw them away.

Does sentimental have a price? they were your grandfathers. priceless in my book.

Hi Dave I love smoked anything. They look great! How are they to eat otherwise. its my understanding KOKANEE are land locked sockeye. When we were in Alaska Sockeye (red) salmon were the best of all the different salmon species we tried. minus Silver, as they were not coming in yet so we never got to sample them. Obviously Alaska is probably the primo when it comes to salmon. Im assuming you catch these somewhere in Utah given your location. there are none near me that i’m aware of.

We soak cherries in bacardi for for a week. Strain out the cherries and reserve. The rum gets a nice red color, mix with pineapple juice and throw a cherry or two in. Great in the summer, but also dangerous!
Eat a few of the cherry bombs in the morning. yay

When free-stone peaches come available, peel and pit and slice 4-5 nice ones and put the slices in a quart jar with vodka and cover./ Put in the fridge for 5 days. Chill a bottle of sweet white wine. Place a couple, 3 slices of peach and a healthy shot of the vodka in a glass with a couple ice cubes, add white wine to fill the glass. We call this drunken peaches. Eat a few of the peach slices and you will understand the name.

Tom once in a while we buy cling stone peaches, because the free stone haven’t arrived yet. we put the cling stones in a Vodka/ simple syrup along with the peach skins. it makes a nice peach infused vodka. cant throw anything away except the oink you know!!
no meat on the free stone, they get tossed.

Tito’s vodka and lemonade with a lemon wheel on the rim of the glass. With the hot weather being predicted for the 4th weekend the beer will stay in the cooler and the vodka lemonade with lots of ice will be my go to.

Vodka lemonades will set you free!!

we have been making our own infused vodka ever since (Tom i think it was) posted the rhubarb vodka several years ago, out of many different fruits
We tried a new one last week. I’m fond of real lemonade. so after making lemonade, we put the fresh squeezed lemon peels in a vodka/simple syrup. OMG in two days hard lemonade from what has normally been tossed! very good stuff

My grandmother taught me to make bread when I was about 12 years old and have been making breads of all kinds since. I’m not much on plain white bread and have a molasses wheat that is crazy good and loaded with wheat germ.

WE hve a bred maker for when I am pinched for time but I much prefer making bread the way I was taught. My grandmother was 77 when she showed me the ropes. She made two loaves every other day. She made her last loaf when she was 106 years old and died at 112. I sure miss her yet.

Right now I have a double batch of my favorite cookies baking…will be at it for about 3 hours. pics later.

Tom My blood sugar goes up just reading your posts. LOL!! It all looks very good!! Thanks for posting!

It’s been about 10-15 years since I built a croix rod so maybe this has changed

St. Croix no longer sells their blanks. But there are other options that are very close to it.

st croix is selling their blanks through RodGeeks I beleive. but not as huge of a selection

Hey, heading to Lake Winnipeg in late March again this year.

Fishing buddy that’s going with me for the first time has H-bird helix GPS (I have Lowrance) and he wants to get the Lake Winnipeg map from Hummingbird.

Here’s my question: Is the Hummingbird “map” an actual SD or micro-SD card or is it JUST a download from H-bird??

    Thanks

Download. Not sure if it’s in chip form yet.

    Cameron
Have you compared the Humminbird map to the Anglers edge? If so are there any significant differences?

Both of us are retired and we both have hobbies that keep us pretty active. One thing both of us have come to realize is that no matter how well you’ve taken care of yourself, after 60 things don’t play fair. Now if I was 20 and starting out in adult life KNOWING WHAT I KNOW NOW, 20% would go to savings. Alcohol would be a very much control thing – never more than a couple beers and then maybe only once a month. Caffiene would be none existent in my diet. Any form of tobacco use would not exist.

When I was 20, nobody knew what alcohol, tobacco and caffeine would do to the body. Today I am paying dearly for it. I take four pills daily to help maintain my afib. I use three inhalers just so I can “sort of” breathe.

The only one I can blame for what plagues me today is me. So if you’re 20, or 30, or 40, or whatever age, quit while you’re ahead is the best advice I can give because down the road, when health issues start cropping up, all that money you’ve saved will be shared with the medical community along with vacations or cabins or…………….then you’ll find out how little you really have. And don’t think health insurance is going to be the saving grace.

    And That’s the Truth!!
when we hit 60 we put Dr. and pharmacy on speed dial. LOL

My favorite apple is an older variety called Fireside. not many orchards have them. But some of the older ones do. they are a late fall apple best after a frost. their flavor has been described as pear like. always crisp and sweet. give them a try if you can find them. my parents have a tree that was planted when i was a child, a looong time ago, still bearing fruit.

    Hello everyone,

2 years ago, I bought a 2006 Lund Tyee 1850. It was my first ever boat, so I did’t exactly know too much of what I was getting into, but luckily the boat looks like it was taken pretty good care of, and it has been very good to me so far. The guy I bought it off of had it parked at a Marina, and told me that the boat had only seen lake ontario.
Now that its been 2 years, I’ve gotten to love the boat and have decided to put a trolling motor on the boat for both fishing and safety reasons, as the boat doesn’t have a kicker.

I ended up buying the Minn Kota Ulterra 36V. Along with the motor, I also bought the Minn Kota 4 bank precision charger. I haven’t been able to find too much info on my boat for that year as to where I should put my 3 batteries I need for the trolling motor, and where I should put the battery charger.
If you guys could please give me some info for the locations, and maybe some tips as to things I should watch out for when I start installing these items.

    Thanks in advance!!

I have the same boat. I had to give up a front storage compartment for the 3rd battery. also added extra wiring.
