I had the same problem with the fuel gauge, I believe it ended up being a bad sending unit.

Mine is a 2011 and has the dual tanks. Not sure about the newer ones.

On mine, the gas gauge worked for one tank, but not the other. I think it was a bad sending unit, don’t remember for sure though.

I removed the yellow roller and replaced it with a black rubber one. That helped to eliminate the scuffing.

Thanks. I’m going to pick one of those up. Just have to decide where to mount it.

Is Skeeter gonna make a boat the average guy can afford that’s not as hideous looking as the MX 1825. Don’t take that the wrong way either guys. The layout is awesome, wish they’d copy that over to the 1850 or 1900 hull. But that boat with a full windshield just doesn’t look right. That kick up at the consoles I’m not a big fan of.

I agree. That’s one of the main reasons we went with the 1850 over the 1825.

I didn’t gain any speed with the new prop, but the boat handles a lot better. I topped out at 45.8, thats with two adults and two labs and all of our gear.

I installed a hydrofoil, went with the SE Sport 300. I haven’t tested it yet, though.

You will be very happy with that addition.

You were right, I am happy with it.

Although I wasn’t disappointed with the performance before the installation, I did get some porpoising when slowing down from full throttle. With the SE Sport installed, there is no more porpoising.

I came from a Crestliner which tracked liked a drunk on a bicycle.

Thats funny! I have to agree with you though. I nick named my Crestliner “the beach ball”, any little breeze would knock you off course.

Thanks Guys. I have been plugging it in after each trip. I just wasn’t sure if the short charges were good for the batteries.

Are you sure you want shelving? I love that space under there to stretch my legs. A place for the dogs to hide. A place for all the Fiance’s crap. A place for my co-angler’s/buddies gear.

I agree. That is one of the features that I realy like about the 1850.

This boat is such a joy to fish out of. So much easier to control than the last boat. Every time out, I just keep liking it more and more.

It’s in neutral. The trim doesn’t work either.

I lost power to the motor. I was checking the fuses under the dash, and must have bumped a wire and caused a short. I can’t find a blown fuse. All the accessories work, but no power from ignition to motor. There are two fuses by the battery and those are good too. Any other place there would be a fuse?

These are the fillers I was talking about. I put gas in the left one, I assume thats the front tank. With the key on and the dashboard switch turned to the front tank the needle doesn’t move. Turn the dashboard switch to the rear tank and the needle moves up to the the “E”. So, if there is 13 gallons in one of the tanks, one of the gauges should be reading close to full. I am thinking it might be an electrical issue somewhere between the switch, tank, and gauge.
