I totally agree Gotalunker. I always feel a guilty just letting something die slowly …. kill it quick, less messy when you clean the fish, fillets look a lot nicer, and from what people are saying they will taste better as well!

    happy fishing!

i would say a month….. ive had it done and its pretty giid in 2 weeks but you wont have much strength….. I remember having trouble turning the key to my truck after a few weeks but at that 1 month time things start coming back quick. mine was very sensitive to cold water and air, it would get stiff and tingle even holding a cold beer. that was the worse part of it for me. that didn’t get better for about 4-6 months.

make sure you massage the scars as often as you can. that helps everything get better faster!!

thanks for the info mr special! I will look into Williams sights because I cant seem to get one from CVA that’s worth a poop…. they fall off, the dove tails are so sloppy that when you snug up the lock screw it pulls out or the screws strip out right away etc……..

i have a bracket that mounts on mine that is basically a prop rod. I am not sure it its a merc thing or some sort of aftermarket thing but it works great. I have tried to find any kind of make model etc and come up with nothing. if I find out what it is I will let you know

does anyone know if a guy can use a red dot sight on a muzzleloader or is that considered a scope?

I slug hunt during the regular season and muzzy later in the year if need be. The head of the small clamp screws are what strip out on the stock rear sight. I even got a new sight last year from CVA and the head stripped out just loosening it up to put it on the gun…… never actually got it mounted. So I think I will call them again and get another! I’m glad they have a lifetime warranty!!!

bad cylinders…… your looking at a couple thousand for sure. I would say if you have low compression in just one hole and the only part that is bad is the piston, and if the block can just be “cleaned up” I would say 2,000 minimum. big motors are very expensive

im a musky fisherman who ended up with a cabin on a very deep, very clear, very popular/ heavy boat traffic lake that has a decent walleye population. so not knowing much about walleyes and wanting to learn more about them I start doing my research……. sounds like guys are catching them suspended over deep water at night. so im trying to get cranks down 20-30 feet….

that’s my problem and I knows theres a ton of people that troll lead but I just really don’t know if I want to go that way
