Keep the prop you have if it is working well and have them put a couple of vent holes in it. I had them drill 3 3/8 inch vent holes amazing the difference, when I put the hammer down my RPM`s jump to about 3,600-4,000 rpm the power band of my motor and she jumps out of the water, the bow barely comes up.

Part of the problem is repair costs friend hit a deer with his 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee body shop estimate was $5,900 they are wanting to total it. We looked at it and for the replacement parts bumper, grill, and fender were $789 I told him let them total it buy it back for $400 and we will bolt on and repaint, the car is driveable the way it sits.

what is everybody looking at for the upcoming season? i been looking at the hummingbird helix series.

For me since the new Mega Live will not work with my Helix 12s Gen 3s and my current Mega Live is excellent. I am waiting to pick up a used Helix 15 Gen 4 cheap for my Mega Live and my 360. My guess is since Humminbird has not come out with anything new for a few years there will be bunch of guys updating their units.

I will be at my usual place looking out the sliding glass doors in the dining room. If I get real adventurous I will sit out on the front porch.

Made most of my own ( wife’s help ) nylon from Walmart about $1.50 each with elastic. Some I wanted the reels covered baitcasters easier then having separate reel covers.

As much as I admire Sheldon and his work the only thing my 2000 Optimax has seen is 10% with over 1,800 hours with only one hiccup low pressure fuel pump in the VST. I do use Seafoam in the tank. Everything on the farm I use 10% and have not had fuel related issues and some tractors will sit for 6-7 months. Just my two cents.

Icon and Pittsburgh are life time warranty’s, the Icons are not far off of my Snapon tools. Craftsman has turned to crap their wrenches are more like clubs thickening them up to make up for cheap steel.

Bad thing is how Walz is pushing for no reciprocation among states so there would be no way you could carry out of your own state or enter another state carrying.

There are several states that honor the Mn permit. You can also get a multi state permit if needed.

    -J.

I understand that but Walz does not want it that way and trying to change it.

What I see now, even on Lake Pepin is this: historic and excellent 3-way and trolling locations, where EVERYONE HISTORICALLY, has been on the same page and traveled in same methodology , etc. are now blocked by a few of these individuals, that pull into the pack, spot lock, and use their new toy. The words are a flying out there for sure! VERY disrespectful.

This has been going on since the beginning of time people that only vertical jig and don`t troll nothing new and very common.

First thing I would do is check your battery, unhook everything from it charge it check voltage, let sit a day or two and recheck voltage if below 12.5 the battery is on the way out. Many times having a load test done does not show a battery as being bad. I went thru 3 Dekas in 18 months to find a good one drove me nuts figuring it was something in the boat drawing down the battery it wasnt, just new batteries that were bad..

I’m paid well over union top scale. There is nothing stopping your employer from paying you more.

Depends on Union my daughter runs the HR department for a 9,000 employee business and their house cleaning staff is a union. They are constantly understaffed and she cannot offer a higher wage to attract new hires as the union prohibits it. Dumb I know but that is the way it is.

There are so many variables in your question size of boat, type of hull, weight, wind, current, speed. Take number of amps your trolling motor can draw times the hours you want to operate and the number of amps will get you in the ball park for size of battery.

My only question in a Union shop why should I work my tail off as I cannot get a raise from my own efforts? There is no incentive to bust butt to get ahead of the rest in the shop.

I am impressed with my Kistler Helium 3 rods when you can get them on sale are they as good as my StCoix Legend Elites almost but for half the price on sale it is a winner.

I donate mine to the local library since back in 1979 so glad I took a life time subscription back then, $150 bucks was a ton of money to spend.

I kind of understand AH but could anyone explain “wattage”to me ? Does a higher watt motor give the motor more power so that you can run your trolling motor at a lower setting ??—Meaning if I run my Minnkota at a 5 setting with a 875 watt battery would I possibly only have to run that motor on a 3 setting with a 1200 watt to get the same results.

The watt ( amp ) draw of your motor does not change no matter what size battery you have in the same voltage range.

Impressive – how many miles do they see a year ?
    [/quote]

Any where from 8,000-14,000 miles a year since the closest water is 100 miles round trip and at least one to two trips a year to Truman Reservoir.

Have Bearing Buddies on my 2000 Shorelander trailer have repacked them once in 24 years due to a seal starting to leak, same bearings and still going. Do the same as mentioned above stop for fuel check hubs for heat Most people have issues with Bearing Buddies because they pump too much grease in them blowing out the back seal.

My two trolling motor batteries lead acid group 31s were on their last legs. I purchased two DrPrepares 100ah Lifepo4 for $209 each delivered and have not one complaint, for that price I could not go wrong, they have been great.

I run 3 Helix 12`s Gen 3, Mega Live and Mega 360 using a dual purpose group 31 ( I would up size your battery ) and can make a full day and still start my Optimax. Me personally hate the idea of having to install an extra battery to run my electronics just more to deal with.
