No it’s not legal and yes you can get in trouble.

You can not intentional target a species when the season is closed. Doesn’t matter if you are going to release it or not.

In Minnesota you may have two lines through the ice.

    Happy Holidays Don,

Yes we are taking entries now, I updated the web site last Friday and some guys are finding it. The brochures will be in the mail around the 30th. If you would like to wait till then fine, other wise print one off at http://www.polebender.com and send it in. We have 4 teams back and one new team so far.

Last years teams do have priority till the end of January however. We will accept 15 new teams before that because we are expanding by 15 teams. Then if 100 % of last years teams do not re-up then we will fill the remaining positions starting at the Walleye Expo January 31st. I would think that we will be full again by the end of February.

To secure your spot it takes a $200 deposit plus $10.00 x 2 for memberships for a total of $220.00. If you want to be toward the front of the ease off at Tetonka/Sakatah then add another $200.00 for entry fee. Of course your deposit becomes your entry fee for the last Qualifier at Lake Pepin. Whatever works for you.

Glad to have you and Harley back!

No studying required for these tests. Just envoles sampling a few body fluids and a brain sample.

You’re more than welcome Dave. PoleBender Outdoors is happy to be the one to get it started. All organizations need cash to operate. Please let us know what else we can do.

    Hawger,

They all came on black and silver in 12 – 8 feet. Didn’t matter what brand of crank just had to be black and silver.

Went to Madison on Sunday. Caught 7 walleyes, 4 snakes and a crappie. Only one walleye large enough to keep 17″ the rest were short fish. Pulled cranks from noon to dark. Water temp at 65 degrees.

You couldn’t catch a walleye with dynamite in Martin county in the last 3 weeks. Was a good crappie bite on most lakes right after freeze up (Christmas / New Years) but nothing since then. It’s getting old. Don’t even feel like going out anymore.

Jim, have you tried a little detective work? Who else did you know on the lake? Who has pernament houses on the lake and talk to each of them. Also ask who else these people might have seen out there in portables or fishing outside. Did you have your name in the bag anywhere? And don’t forget to check in at the local paper, at least around Sherburn it is also the lost and found.

How about an ad on the local cable access channel and the newspaper?

    Good Luck!!!

Jim, I guess I posted my first response to fast. You still might want to check with your agent, just cost you a phone call. I know I’d be crying if I lost my ice bag. I’d go broke trying to replace it. Let alone those special lures a guy carries. Good Luck!!

    Brett & Steve,

I read both of your posts a number of times and it seems that you two are saying just the oppisate of each other, or am I missing something? WARRIOR BOATS sponsor the Minnesota Walleye Trail, so I do have an interest in this thing with Pete. I might find out more this weekend at the MN Walleye Expo.

    Steve,

That is one fat fish. Hope we get to see some pictures, that’s when I’ll truely believe it was caught, not that I don’t believe it, but we are fisherman after all.

Sorry to hear that Jim, What lake? I live in southern MN. If it was out of your pickup your auto insurance might cover it, or if it was out of your fish house I believe your home owners might cover it. I would at least ask your agent anyway.

I got a few of everything and kind, even make a few inline ones myself. I just throw whatever looks good at the time. I don’t know enough about muskie fishing to be a threat to them.

I spend most of my time walleye fishing, but I only live 35 miles form the Iowa Great Lakes, so I try to get down there when I can. And I imagine that I’ll be spending more time as the MN DNR put muskie in my home lake (Fox Lake) in the fall of 1999. There in the 6 -8 lb range now. They sure hang close the the two big points.

I caught my largest walleye to date while muskie fishing on Leech Lake. I believe that if you are targeting large fish you should use large bait.
