Yea you know the waters up when you see the tires in the water at Fishers lake side dock.
June 13, 2014 at 6:28 am #1415627This put a tear to my eye. God Bless America and the quality of people such as you, your Father and likes of you both!
June 3, 2014 at 5:56 pm #1414017Brian that is one of the best suggestions I’ve heard in a long time!
June 3, 2014 at 1:54 pm #1413970Rent pontoons and bring the trolling gear.
I called the owner and he said he would rent his personal pontoon also but only to an experienced operator.
2 rentals and his personal pontoon would fit the hole crew!
http://southwoodresort.com/pontoons.htmJune 3, 2014 at 1:40 pm #1413963I personally think it is sad that people are avoiding Mille Lacs because of not being able to keep a fish. True the fishing has been slow at best but it will turn around.
Show your support for the local businesses’. They need it!
If the food is the number one priority then it is better to fish else-where.
Please do not take my rant personally Chasin, my apologies if it read as a criticism of you.May 20, 2014 at 10:20 am #1411431One thing to consider is the length off rod is the length of your boat. You do not want to be in the bow of your boat when netting your prize!
May 4, 2014 at 9:44 am #1408280Not on opener but the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday after, out of Fishers!
April 7, 2014 at 7:34 am #1402284It sounds like these two young ladies are definitely getting an upgrade in fathers!

March 31, 2014 at 1:39 pm #1400671Lincoln grease guns last forever. Be careful with the powered grease guns, you can not feel when they start to build pressure and can blow the seals very quickly!
March 15, 2014 at 10:12 am #1396337People remember Red Lake! Maybe 25% of the lake is open to hook and line by American citizen’s and the rest is open to netting by the steward’s of the land. I have to wonder at how a fishery of that size can crumble if not for the use of net’s.
March 15, 2014 at 9:52 am #1396330I guess all I can say to this post is Wow. I will be polite and say that I do not agree with this assessment. Not to long ago we needed to clean up all the water ways to promote better fishing and quality of life and now the system is is to clear to sustain a walleye population. Everybody is targeting the same size fish, and we wonder why the population is suffering. Protect certain species of fish and then say it okay because now we have another trophy fishery. . I have fished Mille Lacs for many many years and it is fun to catch a trophy fish regardless of what species. People please remember that Mille Lacs is and will be a walleye factory and maybe we need to stop protecting one group of fish or one species of fish over another!
February 13, 2014 at 1:30 pm #1388461I used Aarons 763-571-0135. Dave has someone who got my employer’s sewer drain out to the street open with a water jet hooked up to a heated power washer (can be messy).
On the incoming side like Mike said they use something like a welding power source.I’ve used Aarons for close to 20 years.
February 6, 2014 at 12:14 pm #1386446Because there is a resistance across the batteries positive and negative terminals with any load (motor, light, radio etc. etc.). By jumping the commons there is not enough resistance across a piece of wire, or like Rootski pointed out there is a dead short.
By the way good one Rootski!
February 6, 2014 at 11:22 am #1386432Should have added, keep your negatives (commons) separate using the switch.
February 6, 2014 at 11:18 am #1386428I would listen to Rootski! You have a 12 volt potential at the negative battery post on your 2nd battery in a 24 volt system. If you are going to use a 3 way switch make sure you a have double set of contacts on each position. That way you break the positive and negative together, that will keep your positive common wires separate.
February 3, 2014 at 8:30 am #1385408I voted NO!
I suggest going after the real problems, there are few of them and I do not believe barbless hooks is one of them.
It is the only lake I’ve fished for many years and still love it, 70 miles from home and a true trophy fishery.
September 21, 2013 at 10:51 pm #1196143I use a 50 foot leader and tie the swivel one arms length from the end (46′- swivel – 6′- lure). I use the arms length so I know how much of the leader is lost when changing lures. When it gets to about 3′ from the swivel I tie on another arms length ( 6′).
September 12, 2013 at 5:03 pm #1194553Penn, American made smooth and last a lifetime.
I use the 4300, it holds 250 yards with the newest one being 7 years old and the oldest being 15 years plus.
Up to 2 years ago I even used them in winter!September 10, 2013 at 2:22 pm #1194064I have also had the line in the tank to the strainer crack just enough to allow idling. Took me awhile to find that

The power of the dog,
When the body that lived at your single will,
With is whimper of welcome is stilled (how still)
When the spirit that answered your every mood
Is gone-wherever it goes-for good,
You will discover how much you care,
And will give you heart to a dog to tear.August 14, 2013 at 8:46 pm #1189584Yes, the scum will steal anything not locked down.
I had a brand new spare stolen from under my Jimmy, the pukes cut the cable to steal it so I got to buy the new hoist assembly, new tire and new rim.
