I also dont have a problem with some one shooting more than one buck, but just dont shoot a bunch of young ones.

What’s the difference? Shooting multiple bucks is still shooting multiple bucks. Age of them is a mute point.

IMO, one can take all of the APR, EAB, QDM programs…throw them all away and truly what is needed in MN is a gun hunt that is well outside of the rut. WI, IA, ILL, KS….what do they all have? Late season gun hunting season. Of which many of those states are 2 buck states who also have legal party hunting. So again what does that tell you? Gun season outside of the rut does and will work. MN hunters, as a majority, DO NOT want to give up their rut hunting. Until that happens, MN will remain as it always has been for deer hunting.

I went to go into the shop to shoot one because I had an opportunity to pick one up CHEAP! So I went in with a clear mind…”wanting” to like it. I shot it 3 times and put it back on the shelf. The arrow hits like a ton of bricks, fast, a little vibe after the shot but nothing a descent stab won’t get rid of, back wall is great, dump over into the valley not bad…but the draw, ick. Also shot the EVO, z7 xtreme and carbon element. Out of them all, EVO would get my vote. But the 3 all shot well I thought.

I have no idea how someone can like the draw cycle on those. And I’m even a Btech fan! ha, ha

When I switched my rest and sight over I am now shooting left despite lining (or atleast believing I am lining) everything up. I have the rest and the pins on center with the limbs. Any suggestions???? Will it throw everything off by moving my pins to the left even though they are not in line?????

Lining up everything with the center of the limbs is the wrong way to go about it. Everything has to be in line with your string with the correct center shot being set. Start with the arrow running straight through the berger holes and then adjust from there.

I am looking at a 1/2 gas vs 3/4 ton gas. If the motors in both were the same, then yes….why go with the 3/4, but they aren’t.

A buddy of mine bought a 3/4 ton gas F250 a few months back and he’s getting 17-18mpg.

With the price of milk, stop drinking milk for a few months and save up for a new bag target. LOL!

Hey thanks for all your great idea’s! I like the foam in the milk jug, really cheap and I drink about two gallons of milk a week so there will always be jugs laying around!! Thanks for all your great advice, wouldn’t get it anywhere else but here on IDO!

I’d call all of these “the working mans arrow”. ha, ha Excellent shafts that won’t break the bank. Just remember that if you buy a camo arrow, it’s spine will generally be stiffer(and cost more) than a regular black shaft. So it just depends on your setup and what your looking for. Last yr I shot the Epics and was very happy with them.

All .003 degree of straightness and they do pretty well on spine consistency.

I overheard a couple of target shooters discussing bow torque at a recent 300 round tournament. One shooter said that “He removed all the torque from his bow by moving his rest all the way out”. He is a right hand shooter, so he moved his rest all the way to the left.

That might be one of the best ones that I’ve heard yet! LOL Nahh…forget about working on your form, play the slice. ha, ha

I like the looks and the specs of the bow, but one would almost think that they would have made it a little longer ATA. There sure seems to be a big push to short bows the last couple of years. 30-32″ is a too short for me. ha, ha

I would like to stick with the 2 blade. There were a few packs of the 2 blade that sold on there for 40+ a pack! lol I’m not paying that for BH’s….I’ll switch to another for that. ha, ha

Not exactly the same but incase your interested there are 2 sets with extra blades of the 3 blade snyper on ebay right now.

So the chances of you letting me know about any if you find them are slim to zero? LOL!!! Good luck to us both in finding some!

They are pretty much the same….except for a slightly smaller cutting diameter and they don’t use the O ring…use a rubber band instead. From what I understand, the guy who designed these switched companies and created the Rage. So therefore no more Snyper. I was hoping to pickup a few packs before they are completely gone and if they aren’t crazy in price. If I can’t find any, not a big deal. I’ll switch to another BH. Slick tricks is a great option to go to.

More $$ than I’d ever spend to golf a round! ha, ha

I’m fully aware that throwing out liability is an easy way to say no and that I’m probably about the eleventyith billion person to ask, but I have to give it a shot again! I hunt land that butts up to it and the amount of deer I see walking down fairways and on the greens is far more action than outside of it! ha, ha Where are the big bucks? Gee, I wonder.

IMO, Every archer should look at it this way. Buy a BH that you like, one that you think is sharp enough and will do the trick.

Such and such BH won’t shoot out of my bow and won’t fly like my field points.

Yes, there are some junk broadheads out there, but 90% of the time your dealing with an untuned bow….not a bad flying broadhead. So BH tune your bow! A field point is a small piece of metal that’s machined for nearly zero drag. A BH is a big chunk of metal with wings on it that will plane depending on diff scenarios and are sometimes more sensitive to shooting form. The other 9%(leaving 1% for bad BHs) with bad shooting BHs is that they wobble when you put them on. How many of you own an arrow spin tester? You need one to see if once you’ve put on your broadhead, if there is any wobble. The wobble could come from an arrow that was never squared after being cut, an insert that was put in wrong or some BHs just like to be seated a certain way. Maybe I’m a bit more anal when it comes to my arrow building as I weigh every component out before I put them together and also use an ASD after I cut my arrows and before the inserts are glued in. But a spin tester is a piece of gear that’s definitely worth the $$ and has saved me hrs of heart ache trying to figure out why an arrow/bh combo won’t fly right.

Sorry for the long read. lol

I’d need names. Go ahead and PM those over. The chick selling hot dogs at the shoot doesn’t count. Strother…I have my doubts and I question what’s going on. IMO, Elite is going no where. They don’t need Kevin to do what they need to do. They’ve already done their damage control by offering a transferable warranty to the bow and they are advertising more and more.

The ONLY sketchy aspect to Strother, and maybe Elite that i have heard through the grape vine is that they are going under. Thus, warranty isn’t being covered. Don’t quote me on that…

Where did this rumor originate? Forums speculation?.?..?..

I’m shooting a Strothers Infinity and one would be hard pressed to find a bow in it’s category and would beat it in the different categories(draw cycle, dump over, valley, back wall, speed and how it holds). And no, no Strothers leg humping going on here. ha, ha I’ve shot and owned a PSE, Btech and Hoyt. If I wasn’t shooting the Infinity, I’d be shooting an Elite GT500. Almost pulled the trigger on getting one many, many times. And I still might.

I order as much as I can online. There are trusted venues out there and there are some that are not. You just have to spend a little bit of time researching who is/isn’t. I don’t want to see the local mom and pop shops go out of business because of online shopping and because there are many people out there who really need their services, but then again I have to look at my own bottom line and checkbook.

    BG,

Way before you even posted that, I thought to myself….Hmmm, not sure I trust myself in a stand held up by a hook system like that.

    Brad,

Doesn’t that Muddy stand have a ratchet strap to go around the tree? If so, have you made any changes to this? I just can not see myself making all the noise of using a ratchet strap when I’m trying to be as quiet as possible getting setup in the morning or any other time.

On a stand that I intend to hang all season, I don’t care. But not on a stand I’m trying run and gun/bow with. If there’s no work around, the ratchet strap might be a deal breaker for me. The LW strap system is about as easy and quiet as it gets including 1 hand operation. It pain me and my arse to say it, but I might have to go with a LW Assault and spend ANOTHER $25 to change out the seat.

Lone Wolf Climber. You can still use sticks to get up in the tree and use the climber. If you find the right tree, which there are more than some may think, you can abandon the sticks. Another good aspect of using the climber is you can adjust the platform, seat, and any angle without having to get out of the stand. Just my two cents…Good luck in your search, and good luck this year in the woods!

Sticks and a climber? Kind of defeats the purpose of going in light and mobile doesn’t it? lol

I knew there must be a reason. I’m getting my first climber this weekend and thought I should ask in case it swayed my opinion. Unfortunately, where I’ll using it is several miles into a public area. I need light and extremely portable!!!

4 LW sticks are 10lbs and if I find a stand around the 10.5-12lb mark(20.5-23 total), that combo is still equal to if not lighter than most of climbers out there. Plus I’ll be able to get in ANY tree that I want.

    What climber are you getting?
