I posted a few pics a while back ( photos of ski pylon and boarding ladder MX 1825 #1274653 – 09/03/13 05:07 PM)

I don’t know how to re-post an old post. Hopefully you can find it.

Both the ski pylon and boarding ladder are great. My son loves wakeboarding and waterskiing behind that beautiful Yamaha 150. The only downside to the ladder is that the velcro strap that keeps it folded up is too short and not heavy duty enough. It lost its velcro-ness in about 2 weeks.

Changing the LED’s to red is the biggest change I hope to make; the white ones are blinding.

I added the boarding ladder and ski pylon last year and really like them.

Lockable storage would be great under the dash, provided whatever door you put on there doesn’t end up getting in the way when open.

My MX1825 sits floating, tied up to the dock during the summer. I’d love to find a way to completely empty the rear live well without having to take the boat out of the water.

Keep coming with the ideas – this is great.

People photocopying their buttocks are the cause of 23% of all photocopier problems worldwide.

    Only female mosquitos bite.
Males live to reproduce, and die.
    …kind of sounds familiar.

I’m loving my MX 1825. Especially when my daughter and I head out to catch some panfish for dinner.

She caught a good sized northern on her pink fishing rod – so she may never again be satisfied catching bluegills.

    Pearson’s Salted Nutroll
    Food of the gods.

Problem is, when was the last time you had one that wasn’t stale?
Not sure how the supply in every store is old.

My buddy bought me a big box of them – and they were all fresh.
    Beyond awesome.

Here are some pics of the ski pylon and boarding ladder.

As far as the pylon – it’s simple to put it on and remove it – it stores easily in the front port storage compartment. 4 lynch pins connect it. The only things remaining attached to the boat are the screw in post hole and 2 small metal pieces in the far corners of the splash well. The rope attachment point swivels. It’s well designed and very sturdy.

The boarding ladder is permanently attached and folds in half when not in use. It’s a little skinny getting up the ladder and past the starboard pylon support beam, however it actually functions pretty well as a hand hold for the person getting out of the water.

    hope this helps,
    Brian

Some great ideas on this thread.

    I’ve got a 2013 MX 1825 – the changes I’d like to see are:

Change the color of the courtesy lights. Turning on those blinding white LED’s at night kills your night vision and makes the lights pretty unusable.
Replace them with red and if possible, put some sort of dimmer switch on the dash.

The stern anchor light is WAY too tall. Not sure if it’s that way to meet some kind of code, but you could get away with one half that tall. It makes it really tricky for the guy fishing on the back casting deck at night.

I really loved using the boat this summer – it’s a great fishing boat.

I had them put on the boarding ladder and ski pylon. It works really well as a ski/wakeboard boat. Only complaint is the velcro they use to keep the boarding ladder secured is WAY too short and cheap. It lost it’s stickiness after 2 weeks. Simple fix by putting another one on it, but it shouldn’t have to be that way.

No regrets at all – just trying to improve an already great boat.

I can see you’re pretty worked up about this. It sounds like you’ve got a bone to pick with the lake association. Have you met with any of them to try and work out a compromise?

There’s 2 sides to everything. If your goal is to slow the spread of AIS logic dictates that there’s a far greater chance for contamination from boats that have been in multiple lakes vs boats that are used primarily, if not solely on that particular body of water. The homeowners want to keep the lake they spend almost all of their time on as healthy as possible. Throw in that they have a significant amount of money invested in a home on that lake – and you can’t blame them for trying to find a solution to the problem.

Will homeowners do stupid things or make boneheaded decisions…probably not any higher than the national average

It sucks that you’re getting the brown end of the stick on this. If your goal is to try and convince the association of the validity of your points, how do your excessively strong responses help you reach this goal?

    regards,
    Brian

I was raised, as I imagine so many of you were, on the concept of stewardship. We have a responsibility to leave our natural world in better shape than we found it, for the next generation.

Invasive species and global warming are very real threats to the natural world that we all hike, hunt & fish in. I know my life would be pretty empty without the peace and beauty of the woods, lakes and mountains.

All we can do is to get involved in protecting it…be the change you want to see in the world.

All the other bloated & paranoid nonsense is just a distraction. It all rings hollow.

I learned the “White Rabbit” trick in Boy Scouts when I was a kid. It still works today.

We can’t open a beer in the boat until someone catches a fish….and when you do, you need to spill a little over the side as nod “to the guys who aren’t here”.

Thanks for the info. I checked out some of the videos on Jason’s site. Looks like I’ll have some learning to do.

I’m thinking the larger graph up front, so it’s easier to see from the bike seat and the smaller one on the console where I’ll be able to see it pretty easily from the drivers seat.
Is that how most folks configure theirs?

    Any tips are greatly appreciated.

    thanks,
    Brian
