I will have to agree with Slop on this one. Too many heavy hitters on the East team. As for Amistad catering to the west??? I think you forgot about that little lake in Florida – Toho !!

October 4, 2005 at 5:10 pm #387846It’s all good as long as it’s up here I was just wondering what happened to the schedule that was posted earlier.
Quote:
OK I hope this will get the attention of most everyone here. I have been contacted by BASS to help get some info to set up a the new Hawkeye division. Schedule is still tenative but they will have 4 tournaments all on the Mississippi River. PDC; LAX; Clinton,IA; and Burlington/Ft. Madison.
I know who to contact in Clinton and Burlington but I’m not familiar with PDC and LAX. Can someone give me some contact info for who to contact in those cities. I guess I can search for their chamber of commmerce but some of you should know who sets these things up I’m sure.
I’m sure there will be more info coming soon but for now know it is coming and they expect to have 150 boat fields similar to BFL when it is in the area.
October 4, 2005 at 2:02 pm #387796I assume that this is the ESPN Weekend event schedule.
What happened to PDC, LAX, Clinton, Ft. Madison ????
September 27, 2005 at 6:41 pm #386258I don’t know about getting the hooks in the LAX area, but don’t spend your money on the “Zoom” hook. Diachi makes that same hook and is about half the price. You can also buy just the screw locks and add them to any brand hook.
Just my two cents worth.
December 14, 2004 at 7:39 pm #331746Power Plants . . . . holding fish ????
Sureeeeeee they do, lots and lots of those toothy critters.
Not going to catch me around one of those power plants.
Nope, no way.
November 30, 2004 at 10:05 pm #329698Bomber . . . Twain is a decent lake and the bass are really coming back well. My brother’s neighbor in Columbia fishes there all the time and says that the fishing is almost as good as in the early 90’s.
Don’t limit yourself to only Twain. Buy yourself a Missouri Gazetteer. This book will show you EVERY lake in the state, as well as telling you about ramps and camping. Great investment !!
Also . . . it freezes, it’s not that far south !!
November 24, 2004 at 3:38 pm #328861Ok . . . don’t laugh that I know how to do this, grandpa was a chef so there
Whole Cranberry Sauce
3 cups cranberries
3/4 cup water
1-1/2 cups white sugarSimmer cranberries and water together. While simmering, mash with potato masher. Add sugar; simmer for 10 more minutes, stirring occasionally. Put into container and refrigerate. Makes about 2 cups of sauce.
Only other thing is you have to stay on top of this . . . don’t let your attention wander elsewhere or it will burn on you real fast!!
November 24, 2004 at 3:33 pm #328860Mine was easy . . . . I love to bass fish and my partner always told me that I was like “Taz” when I was working a buzzbait.
Hmmmmm . . . you think that I should have slowed down a little for him to work his jig ?????
November 11, 2004 at 3:00 pm #327214It’s the old saying “You never know what you have until it’s gone”. At Thode’s I was always able to find that “certain” lure that nobody else in town had.
November 5, 2004 at 6:08 pm #326464Just finished looking at the BFL website and there is no mention of the disqualification. Are they just going to try and sweep it under the rug ?? Very disapointing.
November 3, 2004 at 8:00 pm #326288<THUD> Sorry . . . that was just me hitting the bottom of my boat after looking at those brownies !!! Super nice fish !!! I knew I should have went to the river instead of going to Truman.
March 22, 2004 at 3:15 pm #297787Awesome show!!!
Can’t wait for another episode of “Champman Fishes the River”March 15, 2004 at 5:00 pm #296882Put mine on soon after I got them, Windex works great rather than water. Also just found out that a buddy of mine cuts vinyl and can make them without the clear border. From what he tells me, any color and up to 10 inches tall !! Just a little FYI.
February 2, 2004 at 7:03 pm #291190Our Federation rep brought a bunch of samples back last year from the Classic, it’s some wild stuff!! Used it on a very hot day, kept the fish were very quiet. Another plus was they didn’t leave their lunch in the bottom of the livewell.
February 2, 2004 at 6:51 pm #291187Lets face it. . . . lures are designed to catch US, not the fish!!
I’ll be the first to admit that I have “bitten” on some of these new gimic baits. Some work, some don’t but you have got to give “kudos” to the marketing guys behind them all!!
That must be why I spend a weekend every year, this time of year, sorting out all of those lures I just had to have. Oh well, the neighborhood kids just love me for that!!
February 2, 2004 at 6:44 pm #291186What a great show!! And those smallies!!
I also noticed that the baits shown were Steve’s . . . wonder why that was??
Another great thing was sitting there watching them fish and recognizing some of the spots they were fishing!! Can’t wait to get back out on the water!!January 27, 2004 at 5:03 pm #290297MossyDan . . . just what kind of shrubs are they planting that the deer like to eat do much?? I think I’ll hit the greenhouse this spring so I can have some of those deer in my yard !!

January 27, 2004 at 4:57 pm #290294Well put Gary!
I also have a Hastings barrel on my Remington and can “reach out and touch” the deer. Practice is very important, as well as the ammo. I have found that using cheaper ammo will hurt a grouping. The other thing that I do that might seem a little odd, is carry a pair of shooting sticks. Nothing helps out a longer shot like a steady rest.January 27, 2004 at 4:57 pm #2185Well put Gary!
