I just picked up my lx9 from Vers. They gave me a new camera, updated the software and threw in some extras. All under warranty too. They far exceeded my expectations.

I’ll be making a trip up there in mid march. I can’t wait to get some upper red slabs!

I got mine today and charge it up in no time. Turn on the Marcum look at battery and it said over charge. My MarCum doesn’t say “overcharge” it says “HIVolt” or something to that effect. The battery is neither overcharged nor is the MarCum unit in any danger of being damaged.
My charger automatically shuts off when the battery is fully charged. The red light on the charger turns from red to green. The battery itself does not have an over-charge protection system in it (some do) but that’s not an issue because the charger provided does.
So, charge the battery using the provided charger, slap that sucker into your MarCum… and go fishing.
Thanks for the quick response. I figured that was the case. I just didn’t want to wreck my new battery.

This is something I’d like to know about too. I assumed when I bought the $40 rapala/iceforce charger that it had overcharge protection. Can someone shed some light on this?
January 8, 2015 at 11:57 am #1494174Thanks for your thoughts guys. I’m gonna get out there on Saturday or Sunday. If I have success I’ll post some pics.
January 5, 2015 at 10:52 pm #1492764Frattalone’s woodbury was not able to help me because their service center is actually in circle pines. I’ll have to try D-rock.
January 4, 2015 at 2:03 pm #1491845Rapala has the battery and charger for $149.99 it’s a good deal. I haven’t run mine below 75% on a full day of fishing with the LX9.
November 25, 2014 at 9:32 am #1476809I had 2 Black Betty’s last season. I sold them. I didn’t care for them at all. I now have the 6061 and 3 EC inlines. I love them.
February 17, 2014 at 1:57 pm #1389357I just ordered one off ebay. Blue Ribbon bait has a few in stock.

It’s a eelpout.
February 14, 2014 at 9:16 am #1388666Be careful down there. There are springs and current. Fish with a buddy. It’s mostly northern but I have caught crappies and gills down there. I’ve seen a few walleye swim through but never catch any in the winter. In the summer they get them below the railroad bridge.

gotta love the barstool talk about “caught a limit of pounders” I hear that soooooo much it’s sickening, a 1 pound gill is the equivalent of a 12 pound eye IMO, man that must’ve been awesome catching gills like that, I’d say I wish we had gills like that around home but I’m sure they’re out there I just haven’t caught one yet, I think 10-3/4 is my biggest on public waters and that wasn’t very tall or round, just gotta keep plugging away
A lot of people don’t know what a pounder looks like. Usually a 7 1/2 incher is 1/3 of a lb. I didn’t have a scale but i wouldn’t be surprised if it was 1/2 a lb. It was pretty thick too.
January 14, 2014 at 6:17 pm #1379863My dad lives on Cove bay. He told me yesterday that Brandt’s has a road to sloppy joe’s and the ice in that area is 18 inches.
December 31, 2013 at 5:03 pm #1375603Thanks for the tips. We are going for the afternoon/evening bite. I’m leaving Woodbury around 10:30.

My brother in law forwarded a picture off of facebook of a young man, maybe 12 yrs. old, holding a HUGE crappie. I can’t confirm the lake of course, but a huge crappie none the less. It does look like the inside of a permanant fish house.
That’s the pic I saw. I was up there for the boom too. My experience has been that crappies are cyclical and big water grows big crappies. They always seem to be there but not necessarily in the numbers we want. I was hoping to hear this was a up year for them.December 22, 2013 at 11:13 pm #1373495I would be in on a trip around Harris. Caught a few 8 inch gills up there today.
December 17, 2013 at 8:54 pm #1372232I grabbed his card at the St paul ice fishing show but I haven’t booked a trip yet. Did he put you guys out in a shack or was it more run and gun fishing?
December 5, 2013 at 5:12 pm #1369066Stop the fishtrough.com booth. If you’re looking for tungsten jigs they will have the best prices.

I just bought the 949i from Capra’s for $249.99 and it’s this year’s model. It was $267.80 out the door.
How do you tell that it’s this years model?
I asked before buying if it was this year’s model. I read somewhere that they have a new hub design and heavier poles. I don’t have last year’s model to compare it to so I can’t tell you the difference.November 29, 2013 at 9:50 am #1367459I just bought the 949i from Capra’s for $249.99 and it’s this year’s model. November 27, 2013 at 8:39 am #1366998Sorry, I don’t know the how to tell them apart. I would just ask.
November 26, 2013 at 10:18 pm #1366930Capra’s has it for $249.99 on Black Friday. You might be able to get the price now. Make sure your getting a 2013 model. I heard that they made some improvements.
November 22, 2013 at 5:38 pm #1365948I’m curious about the navionics plus on your phone too. How much was it to upgrade?
