Greetings and thanks for your comments.
“Did you field test your camera at home before you putting it out in the woods?” Yes. Used “shot” button in setup mode in daylight and took good pix. Tried night (outside garage where cats always come/go) no pix.
“Did you try it again once you got home and is it still not working?” Yes. Still not working. Slide button from off-setup-on not “firm”: sometimes when in setup LCD internal screen would be lit but blank. Batteries tested and good. SD cards removed from Trail Cam and used in digital camera with no problem.
“What didn’t you like about the manual?” For starters, when I pay $200 + ship/handle for new mdse, I certainly don’t expect the mfg’s accompanying manual to have missing pages! Secondly, the graphic depictions of LCD screen for set-up in manual look much different from how they appear in the camera itself.
“You may want to give another one a try and exchange yours for a different one.” Not likely. I pretty much did my “homework” on trail cams before deciding on trying the Bushnell. The Bushnell Trophy Cam “on paper” looked good, but… I “shopped” price and found most suppliers were on backorder. I’ve already contacted the supplier from who I bought the Bushnell regarding return and they responded they could replace the defective one I have, however, do not expect to have any replacement to ship until end of Sep’t. When going to Bushnell website, couldn’t even find a Customer Service e-mail address – I had to contact supplier to get Bushnell’s Customer Service contact by e-mail info. I have now e-mailed Bushnell and waiting to see if/how they reply.
“Bottom-line”: the Bushnell Trophy Cam has left a “bad taste in my mouth”. When such occurs, unless the supplier/mfg “go the extra mile” to “make good”, normally I take my future business elsewhere.
