Always very important to have good tires and a good spare this just happened today. This Carlisle had over 5000 miles on it I think I picked something up on my way home. It was quite loud when it went.

I don’t have any experience with larger generators but I have used the Yamaha inverter type on our houseboat vacations for several years and I’m impressed with them. They start first or second pull every time and are very efficient and quiet.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I’m going with the 8 ft. I already have the ratchet mount so all I need is the antenna.

We go in June but the weather can be iffy. It can be cold and rainy and the mosquitos could be a little nuts that time of year but the fishing can be great.

I’ve been taking my family to Crane lake with Voyagaire houseboats for 8 years. I keep thinking I might do something different but the family enjoys it so much I can’t bring myself to stop going. The owners and crew treat us like family and the lodge was built new about 5 years ago. I know this isn’t the operation you were asking about but it’s a good time regardless of who you go through and the scenery in Voyageurs national park is spectacular.

I forgot to mention that if your willing to travel a little farther east. Deep slough is probably the best beach on Namakan for kids and it’s very well protected. If it’s taken Ebels beach and beaver bay area close and very nice as well.

I have the Navionics app on my tablet and lake master on my sonar. The Navionics app showed a large reef on a lake I was on recently. I looked for it on Lake master and it wasn’t there so I went looking for it and it didn’t exist. Kind of a bummer considering it was my first time on this part of the lake and I wasted time looking for something that wasn’t there.

Hi Grouse. The family and I were up on Kab and Nam two weeks ago. Blind Indian narrows is a nice beach but wind from the north can be a little rough. McManus island in Junction bay is a nice beach also. It’s on the east shore just across from junction bay north. You can go into Canadian waters but don’t fish without a license and don’t have minnows in the boat with you. I like fishing on Namakan we caught a pile of smallies this year the walleye were a little more difficult for us this because of the unstable weather we had. I would think they are going pretty good by now on the reefs and humps. Leaches are a good bet and minnows of course. If you are using Voyagaire houseboats you can use the hospitality service to bring you fresh bait daily. Have a great trip can’t wait till next year for our next trip.

I grew up hunting Clayton and Allamakee countries. Lots of big deer in that area. I haven’t enjoyed deer hunting since I left Iowa.

I toured the Premier pontoon factory and saw how they are built. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy one. They make a great product.

I had a 1992 Johnson 90 hp with the VRO. It had the original pump on it when I traded it off in 2013 I never had a problem. From what I was told the first model VRO was the one that was defective which were the late 80’s model’s. I believe that the VRO system got a bad rap. Any time and engine had issues it was blamed on the VRO.

I’ve put them in a dehydrator before and had good luck. Just put them in water to rehydrate.

I would love to see a 5 fish limit here on pool 10. The size of gills down here have dropped drastically over the last 10 years. The only problem with changing the regs here is dealing with border water with Iowa. I don’t see any reason to be keeping 25 gills ever. I usually fish with my wife and 2 boys and never keep more than 15 which is plenty For a meal for all of us. I’ve witnessed guys catch a limit leave then come back later for another round.

I just received my boat registration renewal papers in the mail yesterday it expires at the end of the month. I was wondering how I was going to get it done. So far I don’t care for the website all that much but I’m sure I’ll get use to it.

We bought a Samsung stainless two years ago and love it. We haven’t had a single problem with it. We had a Frigidaire previously and had pump issues and leaks it was only three years old. I won’t buy anything from Frigidaire or whirlpool anymore.

I save my cork handles from open water rods that I have broken and use them for ice rod’s.

I use both grips but after jigging for awhile the reel grip is more comfortable because it keeps my wrist straighter.

As quickly as it happened I don’t even remember what it looked like. I was fascinated by how fast it happened and how accurate he was. After watching it I can see why guys get into falconry . I would love to see a peregrine take out a pigeon that would be pretty cool.

I was watching my feeders the other day and watched a small hawk nail a bird under the feeder. I don’t know what kind of hawk it was but it pretty cool to see him standing there with the bird under his feet.

When I read the comments in the LaCrosse Tribune I couldn’t believe the amount of people who called this a victimless crime. That kind of ignorance drives me crazy because everyone who buys a license is a victim because it makes it harder to catch fish when greedy morons think they don’t have to follow the rules.

Mine did the same thing last year. All I did was send a picture of the damaged one and they sent me a new one and I returned the broken one. They gave me the choice of a new tri-beam or the new pro view.

I wear insulated bibs with either blue jeans or sweats. Most of the time I won’t wear a coat just a sweat shirt and a flannel shirt.

Hopefully things will happen quick. I won’t be able to get on the ice for at least three weeks. That is if my doctor will release me.

I hope so Dave. I really don’t like the idea of missing out on ice fishing this year. I’ve given up way to many things the last few years because of this hip.

Hey Dave nice rig. Are you going to be running a shuttle service with it? I’m having hip replacement surgery on Friday and was worried about how I was gonna get out on the ice this year. I gotta get one of those things.
