You can never go wrong with a weedless spoon! Bring it over the top of the pads and let it flutter down in an opening. Man that is fun!

Dad and I were talking about that today while we were fishing at Geode. Dad Seems to remember being in that Ranger with Jim

I got to the lake at about 7:00 this morning. The red-ear were on the beds and the bass were acting strange. Some were on beds others just cruising. None of them wanted anything to with feeding. I threw everything I had at them, but not one took the bait. I literally hit one bass on the head several times to try and get a strike and all he did was swim away and then circle around back to the bed. It was at this point I called it quits on the bass. Towards late morning I switched to a crappie jig to try and catch at least on fish. That seemed to change things. I caught a few red-ear and a couple of crappie and a white bass. To sum up the morning in one word… Frustrating!
