Wow, hauling a gas can in your fish house is just as convenient as a 1 pound lp tank! I think I would rather have the lp tank. I really like not having to deal with the gas mess and smell on your hands, no choking or priming or cleaning carbs every few years. As for the freezing lp tanks, it has never happened to me (nor anyone I have talked to) and I fish with temps well below zero. I guess if the lp froze my heater would freeze also so I don’t think that will ever be an issue for me. Propane vs gas seems like a no-brainer to me. Don’t worry Strike master fans they will soon follow with a propane auger, then I’m sure propane will be the best thing ever.

My two cents I’ve owned all makes and models of augers for the past 25 years. Last year I purchased a Jiffy Pro 4 and will never go back to a gas auger again. It will handle long bouncy rides in the shack behind the 4 wheeler and snow machine, this thing is tough. My buddy bought another brand and the plastic handles broke off half way though the season.
