Aaron is a dude. My son loves his fishing shows and copies his sayings and fishing tips. Just like I did with Big Al, Babe, and Roland.

We ran into Aaron at a fishing show in the Cities. Spent some time hanging out. Great guy!

I agree with mojo. Let’s say you want to pull cranks from 2 to 3 mph. You can get that speed from your outboard AND control it with your bow mount. Just putting the bow mount down will give you control and slow you down, if needed. Drift socks can help, as mentioned already.

You may not need to add anything at all to achieve what you want. Have fun!

Those are funny stories! And it’s great that there are multiple uses the GREAT OUTDOORS can provide…think about it, pheasant hunters, duck/goose hunters, deer hunters, fisherman, squirrel hunters, snipe hunters and more could ALL use an area at the same time.

Sharing has never been more important. Learned to share from my mom early on and it stuck for the last fifty years. Thanks Mom!

I pick the moss in the ravines behind our house. Dark, deep, smelly ravines with wild creatures…

I am right with you on moss and culling the herd to keep them healthy. Moist but not wet. So, I use single sheet of dampened newspaper across top of crawlers and bedding. Feed? I use corn meal. Kids and I pick crawlers using red head lamps. Bring on the rains!

80 pound Terrova and 2 size 30 AGM batteries dedicated to only that electric motor…run all day and more in the river.

I use craft fur and marabou for panfish jigs, as well as hair. The movement of fur/marabou really helps bites.

Walleyes…funny you ask. Last evening I was catching Saugers and walleyes on black/pink hair w meat. Yep, only had 1…not kidding. Have dozens of hair and duplicates of all…except THE ONE. So, put purple craft fur on other rod. One fish compared to black/pink hair with 15.
Many other possible variables, but thought it was weird to have same weight and color lead. Not scientific, but I will almost always tie with hair for walleyes, bass, and pike.
So, here I am tying some black/pink hair jigs.

X2 Water spike and length of chain. Always holds my 1890 Warrior in current or waves.

Have several other anchors no better than large paperweights.

Daughter and I are getting sap as well. We boiled a batch and there’s some residue in the bottom. Rather than strain it, my feeling is slow pour the good stuff and just leave cruddy stuff at the bottom. Sound okay? Pancakes and meat for breakfast.

Ha! Tom beat me to the rock bass look-alike…not that I think it is one, but maybe a new species…a rockpie? Ooh, that was horrible.

Had a 24 and not adequate to run pumps, electronics, navigation. Went to 31. The tray was an easy fix–cut away one side with a sharp knife. Didn’t even take it out. Strap holds it in place. So, depends on your needs in boat, but a 27 would be minimum for me.

For a few bucks, a plastic siphon hose will get all the gas out of your tank. I do that every year, turn the gas line off, run engine until dead. 1996 two stroke.
Grease everything now when it’s warmer.
I have to take out the foam air filter or mice eat it.
Those are my basics for storage.

No worries at the landing at Everts…just use a long rope and pull your boat around the dock (if using upper landing) and pull up on the sand. A few minutes at worst. Nobody will freak out and someone will most likely help you. Fishing…it’s fun…enjoy!

Outboards are made to self drain when tipped down. Do as Mark said. All will be fine.

Never see him just sitting on a bucket–he’s always moving.

Layers and I bet he changes those layers once in a while…unlike some I know. Nothing worse than cold and stinky.

I have a Winchester 1200 with a poly choke. I liked in the day to vary choke patterns…now, it’s nostalgic. Serves the purpose. Gramps called it a piece of snot on the barrel.

Redoing your gun to original is my first vote.

If that goes south, consider custom camo by you. There are several step by step procedures out there…duckhuntingchat has one of the best with pics. Here’s my 870 that was ugly. The camo looks cool, I think.

    Enjoy the project!

I use the Twister Electric for pannies ALL the time. Slab off the meat with rib cage, leave the skin attached at tail, cut meat off skin, cut rib cage off meat. Sometimes I use the 4 inch rapala to cut out the ribs with a wrist flick.

If you clean more than a few, use the electric.

Ha! Got a hottie in the front seat already. She wants the truck for herself.
Weather tech are sweeeeeet. Got em. The bedslide is something I am looking at. But dang, that some change to layout. Still researching how to make it easily out of plywood and 2×4. It would not stay in…just specific applications when loose stuff would go in drawers and dog crates on top.

Lights are something I need to check into…several LED bar lights available.

Ordered Leer topper, bedrug, keyless remote, drop down front window TODAY!

Looked at truck vault, but I think I can make one to do same job with plywood and 2×4. Keeps guns, waders, small stuff out of harms way. Anybody made anything like this and have plans?
