I have tried using a partner rattling while bowhunting and it works. But one time a big buck came past me doing about 30 mph looking for the guy making all the noise! The buck I shot this year would have walked right under my stand if I hadn’t shot him first. I have had problems with a buck comming too close and looking for the fight and not being able to get a shot off. I think a decoy would hold his attention and bring him right where you want him.

Good tips Dan. Do you ever rattel during the rut? I do it a lot before nov. and had very good luck, 8 point brought in from over 200 yards this year. but I haven’t tried it much during the rut.

Saw a nice 10 point or better on tues in MN he was checking around some scrapes and big rubs at 11:20. no shot though I have had good luck ratteling in bucks during mid to late oct. has anyone had any luck later than that?
