North and South Dakota are nice but they are not NW Ontario! Nothing in the world for fishing like Ontario. The only hassle I’ve had in 40 yrs is coming back into the U.S. from my own country. I’ve never had a problem with the Canadian side of customs.
I believe most tungsten jigs are a combo of tungsten dust/polymer agent to harden, at 6000+ degrees the hooks would evaporate when the molten tungsten hit them.
I use 12 lbs with flouro leader depending on species. Haven’t had the breaking issues the smaller diameter lines have had. I even tried to break it when “frayed” on big catfish and carp, never did break.
I fished it on 11-29 and caught some yellows. The ice was 4″ on Farmers beach, a bit more on the little lake. Many people fish the Big lake as they do the Little lake. I catch bigger yellows and more walleyes on the Big lake than on the Little lake. Plus the local guide on Clear lake just posted if you are fishing more than 8 fow you are fishing to deep. Key to the yellows is drill a bunch of holes and hop around to find them. Hope this helps, good luck.
Hey there Kooty, this is I TRY HARD from the other side of the site but couldnt get my user name or password to work. Most likely user error. I will call you on the guns when I take a look at them.
Right along with Missouri River at the South Dakota/Iowa/Nebraska boarder. Town is called Dakota Dunes. My friends property buts up to a large track of Nature Preserve. I have not seen it but he said that he has 15 other bucks between 120-170 on camera this year. Its called the Hoffman petty zoo. Great turkey hunting also.
Thanks, Luke, glad to be here. A few of us from the Waverly area will be over there on Sat/Sun. Just hope for a few more inches of ice, would like to check out some of our “hot spots”
