yeah the day before we were running around gull hitting walleye in deep water, nothing of real size but lotta 12s and a 15.5 our group had 54 eyes between the 5 of us that afternoon, too bad all were small but it was still fun, and handful of perch and a bonus tulibee too.

yeah i never got a real good hook up rate with them either, now they all reside in my “junk tackle” box… damn shame cause they do catch fish, but missing fish really, really ticks me off!

from baxter huh? you must have been at the extravaganza on the 19, i was there too and took my new (new to me) perm wheel house up on thurs and left sun, got myself a new lx3tc with a 1.21 lb walleye!

i make custom rods but i live down in rochester.there is a lot to learn online too.

the 40 dollar black betty is JUNK, the 6061 is supposed to be way better but no one has it out to mess with and im thinking thats for a reason. 13fishing gear let me down with that reel, until them i thought all their stuff was original and excited to see what they came out with next… i think they should just stick to rods.

yeah a cribbage board is in order soon, trying to find one in the shape of a fish…and i have done a lot of run and gun and i really enjoy that- go figure right? ha but i am not talking about getting antsy on a single day outting… this ? was more geared towards a week or so on the ice. my buddy thinks we need hockey sticks for when the ice is bare of ice, and i think a folding bean bag game (cornhole) would be a nice addition to the gear. but the only thing i have came up with really is the checker board- but we thought of a twist,every few games we are going to put one of our coveted tungsten jigs on a random game piece and then if that checker gets jumped the person loses that jig, win or lose the game you might come out a jig ahead. and my adhd doesnt keep me from enjoying fishing or a movie or anything like that but i just dont see how people can put a bobber down and just sit and stare at it until it moves, i need to be jigging, or run n gun, or reading a fish mag or something, im very active.. i build custom rods and make powder painted ice jigs, so i can see myself sitting back making a ice rod to add to the collection while out there. but nothing that me and my buddies can do together.

i would get a rod from thorn bros..
as for jigs, any rocker jigs with a minnow head or the gemneye spoon or my new fav the slender spoon. all tipped with minnow heads! good luck.

i try to match what they are eating.
on a perch lake we have by my house they eat a lot of red worms in the mud, so i use a red scud bug and slam them all day!!

correct. on ALL olmsted ponds and res you can only take 5. if you read on the DNR website it says that you can take 10 panfish from cascade but only 5 of which can be black crappie. thx for the report tho- ive been out there for weeks.

yup, seafoam and some fuel stabilizer will save a lot of headaches
