Matt, I don’t think you should give up on dogs, cus’ I think a dog could have a lot worse life than livin’ and hunting with you. I know its hard on a guy, but keep your head up and give another pup a chance to enjoy life, however long or short it may be…..

Mac…. We urine pounded (for lack of a better term) the ‘eyes on Winnie last weekend of October….
We fished Sat from 4pm to 7pm and boated over 30 fish in the 14 to 16 inch range

Jig’n minnow in 8-10 FOW in the “dishes”…..

Not far from Bowen, so I’m not sure what your deal could have been, but Bowstring is fun to so If your catchin’ fish there then thats cool too.

    Later buddy.

    Hey Chad,

    Thanks for the tips.

Any live bait rigs that you use out there? Also, last week, what depths were most productive ( is the lake very deep? )

    Thanks again Sirchad

    Hey Slider,

Sorry for the late relpy. Gull was great on opener. We didn’t fill out, but got close. We caught 10 fish between 14 and 16 inches on opening saturday. Jig and fathead combo in 8-14 feet off of grassy point. Also a few nice pike over 30 inches. Sunday morning we didn’t found the ‘eys up in the grass in about 7 FOW but still on grassy point. We only were out about 3 hrs on Sunday morning and got 4.

Pike, I know what your sayin’ – I’m just givin’ you a hard time.

However, in the NFL ( or any pro sport for that matter) your team isn’t gonna win the championship every year. The only thing you can hope for is that they play well enough to make the season fun to watch (i.e the Vikings and Bears this year. )

Although the Vikes didn’t make the playoffs, they took it right up to week 16 and kept thier fans entertained – isn’t entertainment the goal of watchin’ sports?

Same goes for the Bears this year, They were a fun team(defense)to watch and they made the last 17-18 weeks enjoyable for thier fans.

The 2005 Packers……….Well, how much fun did you have this year? you see my point, don’t you?

Big Pike, There are 4 – 15min quarters in the NFL now, and I think they count the points you score in the 3erd and 4th quarters toward your final total to decide the winner (I’ll check the NFL website to confirm that)..let the game play out. BTW, what time is the Packer game on today……..?

You said you had your choice of 12 or 20 and that you were goin’ with the 20. Well, Can I buy the 12 then? 600 bucks is a good deal for new in box M1 ( is it the camo version – advantagte timber ? )

    Let me know

Hook, This may sound odd to you, (It’s even hard to for me to write) but what you should do is buy a jacket for your wife or girlfriend.

Yea, I know it sounds crazy, but you gotta follow this logic. You see, what will happen is your wife or girl will appreciate this “sacrifice” so much, that in the future, it will be much easier for you to allocate funds for future purchases. You see, by using the gift cards on your wife or girl, you are making an investment in the future – that will pay off over the years in rod lockers full of GLoomis, St Croix, and Shimmano.

Trashman, Great choice. The R1 is truely an awesome rifle. I had a chance to put about 10 rounds through a 270 WSM this fall at the range and I loved it. The gun is light ( 2 lbs less than a BAR) but the recoil on this 270 WSM was like that of a .223? It was amaizing. Not to mention that you can use differnt barrels ( a nice feature)

I’m getting one for sure – but I”m gonna wait until it comes chamberd in my cal. ( 7mm remington mag). Even though the 270 wsm is very close balisticly to the 7mm mag, I’m still gonna wait. , Lemme know the B&C score of the monster buck you get with it next fall……LOL>

Rob, Thanks -That’s another cool pic. I enjoy lookin’ at the differnt scenery on these posts almost as much as the monster bucks. I think sometimes we (hunters, fisherman/women) get two caught up in the game we’re chasin’ and miss one of the greatest parts of chasin’ that game; getting a chance to spend time in places like that pic. – Don’t worry, I’m not gonna recite a poem or anything………just wanted to throw that out there.

    Have fun out west

Carpking, It has been my experience that when it comes to wadders, you typicly get 1 year for every $20 you spend on them. ( example: a $100 dollar pair=5 years, and so on….) Now I understand this is far from the Pythagorean Theorem, however, it has held true for me and everyone I’ve hunted with. Therefore, if you get 1/2 more year out of your current set of wadders, then you have met the standard, ($50 wadders = 2.5 years). I don’t think your in that bad of shape. – just my two cents.
