It is as good as it get’s. Baseball is a game and games are fun. This was a fun game no matter what happens next.
Ride the wave boys, ride the wave!

Having had a 9N, the hose heater works well and aids in starting. Any TSC or Fleet Farm should have the part he needs. Also, Little Dearborn in Minneapolis has parts should the tractor need additional repairs.
River: I must say looking at your pictures gives me great pleasure. Much more then looking at my declining statements.
As always, excellent work!
I take it off every weekend I leave the cabin.
Went online with Lowrance and saw that they are guaranteed to a -4 below. I have always brought it in and stored it inside over the winter. I do have a small Eagle I use on the pontoon and keep it in the boat house over the winter. Still works after 5 years.
I learned from one of the Applebaum boys the beauty of a New york Strip at the St. Paul Grill. The strip and the hashbrowns with a creme brulee for dessert.
Second is the filet at St. Elmo’s in Indy. Out with an old friend from high school and in walks our music idol Neil Young who was in town for a farm aid concert. We did a rendition of “Southern Man” for Neil and he bought us a drink. That was living! Oh, the steak rounded out the night.
Third, my best friend Ricky taught me how to grill a steak. He used to work at Charlie’s in downtown Minneapolis and has shared a secret or two. Give me a prime cut from Byerly’s and I’ll make your mouth water. The only reason it’s third is because I have to do the work!
River: I saw “Photo Show” in the left hand column and it was the first post I opened.
A little laid up from foot surgery but, I will make it to the Gallery before months end.
Thank you for sharing.
Charlie:
Thanks for the update.
Headed up this weekend with a friend and will take some time to check out the action.
Went up to LOTW the first time and slept on the ice for two days. Next time up stayed at a resort.
Contrary to what my nephew the “Col” might post, I would never again sleep out on the ice. It is dead just before dusk and the one or two pout we caught was not worth sleeping on the ice for!
Just drove by at noon on the way to the folks. Saw a few houses on Peltier in the same places so that confirms the fishing pressure.
Centerville just had a skim on it but with the wind today, it might make it worse.
Come on old man winter!
River:
You are a kind soul to share your art with us.
At the end of a long day, you gave me exactly what I needed to take me through the rest of the evening.
I must be getting OLD! Wasn’t it last year that “somebody’s” uncle drove out 13 miles on the ice as we debated going to Red and it wasn’t in a bomber ?
Man the fish we caught !
I live in Ham Lake across from Carlos Avery. The last three nights I have heard the same wonderful concert. I have noticed the squirrel population is not what it use to be.
No explanation for the concert but, I go to bed every night lying there waiting for it to begin.
We just talked about it at dinner last night. My two cents, I would rather set my hair on fire then do the Zephyr. Do the math, a three hour trip on 6.5 miles of track. The food was fine but at some point all you want is to run along side the train to get it to move faster.
Treat her right and go to the St. Paul Grill (New York Strip highly recommended along with the hashbrowns with bacon & onion and the best creme brulee’). You will spend as much but the food is much better and you can leave when you are done with dinner!
Many things I want or could say. Perhaps we should all take RiverEyes advice and wisdom on the subject. We all would be better if we did.
Thank you RiverEyes for your insight, understanding and intelligence. Perhaps more AK pictures would calm the beast.
Thanks Cougar.
I was looking for the same article. I appreciate your help.
I have used the locals up at our cabin to find teh monster pike. A few at the local Muni and folks will talk.
I am back up there this weekend with hopefully a bit more success. I thought with the colder weather they would be lying in wait in the shallows but, I spotted them all in 15 to 30 FOW. We’ll see what 34 degrees last night will do to the movement.
Rivereyes, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.
It is late and I just got home from Orlando(not a “true ” FLA experience) on business. I always check the general discussion forum and look for your contributions. It was a great gift to see your AK pictures and read your commentary (which is almost as adept as your photography skills).
Thank you for sharing you gift with us. As you can tell from all the response, your efforts are truly appreciated.
As a former lurker I had a problem. Now that I have come clean with my addiction, I feel it is some how sanctioned.
I know this, the more I read at this site, the better prepared I am when out on the water.

Kimer:
Jon has given you some great information and asked the right questions.
I run an ’04 DF 140 on a Alumacraft Nav 17.5 at about the same RPM range with a three blade SS prop.
Check out the Suzuki web site for information on props. It has been a while for me but when I did, they had great information there.
Good Luck!
