I’m not a rod builder but…it looks like it could be a Forecast guide. Go to Batson Enterprises on the internet and search through their catalog.

Have you tried replacing the GFCI in the garage to see if that eliminates the problem? They do go bad after time. As far as the other issue, I would turn the breaker off and replace the receptacle. Make sure you’re not using the receptacle as a splice point for the wires coming in and going out.

If you want a good bouncer rod and your heart is not set on a St. Croix Shimano Compre Walleye trolling rods are back. I use the 8’3″ M and love them.

I use snaps on spoons and tie directly to jigs. When I use blade baits or lipless cranks I use a snap and I usually tie a swivel 2′ from the snap.

Thanks for the info Dean. Those 300’s will fit a lot nicer in my in floor rod storage than the 600’s. Looks like I’m going shopping.

You got 10 colors on a Tekota 300LC? Just making sure this isn’t a misprint. I am currently using 600LC’s and want to downsize with the new 832 leadcore. I want a reel I can get 10 colors on that is as small as possible.

RAM makes a trolling motor stabilizer that will prevent that from happening. They are about $50-$60 depending on length.

If you have a little extra dough step up to an Avid. Better blank and a lifetime warranty I think.

Don’t leave Scheels pro classics out of the equation. I use their 12’ers and love em’. They have a fast action which is why I like them so much. Scheels makes 5 or 6 different lengths of trolling rods and the prices are easy on the wallet. They have them for 20% off a couple times a year.

Is there an Xcel energy saver switch involved in the equation? Is it possible they were cutting power while you were working on it?

I had a buddy do the same thing this year. The fuse looked good but for the heck of it we took the screws out on the old one and replaced it with the spare and everything started working again. Just because the fuse looks good does not mean it is good.

I have had the same problem with the clevis on the slick sticks. So I went to a local bait shop and picked up some sinker slides and haven’t had a problem since. Basically it’s a 1 1/4″ plastic tube with a snap off the bottom.

On a serious note. Did your nephew catch anything when he pitched his jig at it?

It is my understanding that it is not illegal as long as you place one bait with a hook on one wire and hookless spinners or plastics on the other wires.
