I bought a Dominator 175 side console with a Yammi 150 last fall. Added a Yammi 9.9 kicker this spring. Add times I wish I had the full windshield but other times I am glad I don’t… they both have there advantages and disadvantages. I absolutely love the boat so far! Good Luck!
July 19, 2012 at 12:03 pm #1085652Hey Chris. I have never fished Rainy and I am thinking about planning a fall trip. Who do you recommend for accomadations and when in the fall would be the best time to come up?
Thanks,
Mike

the launch is 2′ lower than the no wake level.
Good to know!
July 2, 2012 at 2:59 pm #1080402Good to hear and thanks for posting!
Is there a set water level for opening and closing that launch? I arrived at the landing yesterday morning at 6 AM and found out it was closed. I just assumed with the no wake lifted the landing would be open. That is the only landing I have used so I wasn’t too happy.
July 1, 2012 at 1:53 pm #1080232Yeah it looks like both landings in town are closed. I believe Bennie’s is open but I am sure it is a zoo.
June 28, 2012 at 3:06 pm #1079518The remote cable bracket is what hits the back deck… if I would have went with a tiller I don’t think I would have had any issues.
I have been talking to the dealer about this issue and they are going to take a look at it when my rig goes in on July 9 to get the Lowrance Sonic Hub installed!
When I have wanted to tilt the motor all the way up I have been just swinging it to the outside and then the remote cable bracket clears the back deck.
Thanks for the input and I will discuss the possibillity of a transom lift bracket wtih my dealer.
June 26, 2012 at 7:03 pm #1078880I would hope they will replace the seat.
I bought a new alumacraft last fall and some stiching came loose on one of my seats. The dealer is replacing with a brand new seat at no charge. Good luck!
June 21, 2012 at 12:59 am #1077574Yes you need a NMEA netork for the external GPS puck. The HDS 7 does have an internal antenna so the external puck isn’t necessary unless you want your GPS to update more quickly.
June 19, 2012 at 3:07 pm #1077033We picked up 4 legal ones sunday and a bunch of shorts. The largest legal one went 22 which was released. We kept three eaters which were all around the 16 inch mark. We rigged with leeches and crawlers all morning with no luck. Switched to cranks in the afternoon and we started getting fish. The active fish that we found were deep. Good luck out there!
June 15, 2012 at 3:09 pm #1076261Good thing I released that one when I was there Trev… I am surprised it grew a half an inch that quick though!
May 16, 2012 at 2:53 pm #1068577Thanks Chris. I have heard of Panther lifts. I do have power tilt on the kicker so I will not need lift. Maybe one of there brackets would do the trick though.
May 15, 2012 at 2:58 pm #1068318Glad to hear things are off to a good start Trev! See you in a couple weeks!
March 30, 2012 at 1:19 pm #1054167I left the nub on and I did extremely well last friday night… I wonder how much better I would have done if I would have pinched the nub off.
March 28, 2012 at 1:20 pm #1053368Well Trev, I should be pretty well set up to pull cranks once I get that kicker installed!
I do like jigging and rigging as well… we will have a whole week to figure them out so I think we will be alright!
See you in June!
March 26, 2012 at 1:25 pm #1052497Hey Trev! I will save some money for you when I come out in June!
So far I don’t miss the tiller. I have been spending most of my time on the bow with the I-piliot so it has worked well.
What kind of bite do you think I will hit this year when I come out? With these warmer temps everything seems to be real early this year.
March 23, 2012 at 1:18 pm #1051750Thanks for the input guys! It sounds like once I get the kicker on there I probably will never be with out one again! I am going to pull the trigger and add one to my rig. Thanks again guys!

I run a 175 navigator with a 150 e-tec. Not the same as a 4 stroke but similar rig. I would be lost without my t8, but I do a ton of trolling.
Are you running the T8 with remote controls and the steering tied into the main motor?

If you are trolling the hours rack up on the big motor fast. Anyone who knows his stuff when buying a used boat will get a print out of hours.
Rigging in wind, pulling spinners and trolling are all great times to use a kicker and steer with the terrova.
I vote for a kicker.
I am definitely leaning towards adding it and I have thought about the fact that it would save hours on the big motor and it would probably save fuel while trolling as well.
March 22, 2012 at 11:37 pm #1051613I do alot of rigging and I have been getting into trolling more recently. I was playing around with lead last fall and I really enjoyed it. With the 150 I was only able to get down to maybe 2.5 mph. I do have a Terrova 80lb Ipilot on the bow and I actually used that for trolling some last fall when it was placid and it worked well if the conditions were right. If the water had a good chop I don’t think it would work well.

I use marine formulated Stabil and Yamaha Ring Free in every tank.
X2! I also use the supposed non ethanol fuel!
March 7, 2012 at 8:29 am #1436758I can’t wait until the first week in June! Hopefully we will have just as good of luck as we did last year!
See you in June Trev!
March 1, 2012 at 6:31 pm #1045042I put a set of Nitto Terra Grapler tires on a while back and no complaints here. Fairly aggressive tread but yet quiet on the highway and they seem to be holding up real well.
February 24, 2012 at 2:32 pm #1042491Awesome! Good luck Steve! Hopefully you can turn the place around and make it enjoyable again!

Ice armors are all I’ll use. They’re fairly light weight, water proof (unless you stick your hand in the water past the cuff) and you still have decent sensativity.
The ice armor gloves are awesome!
