http://www.AtHomeOnTheLake.comJune 15, 2004 at 7:48 pm #308773Chisago Lakes area weedline walleye.
Hey guys! I am reading along as well!
The weeds he maybe referring to is “Curly Leaf Pondweed” This is an exotic weed that flourishes early in the year but dies back in July.
This plant mats up like milfoil. It is also like millfoil in the fact that if you can figure out how to fish it, it can be INCREDIBLE!!!Cory Frantzick

Cory FrantzickFebruary 27, 2004 at 4:56 pm #294434I hit the river yesterday as well…..It was slow for me as well……but the fish I did get were decent! interestingly I did not get one sauger…..but i was fishing quite shallow….In the end I probably would have caught more fish deeper, (Only ended up with 4) BUT, smallest was 16 inches and the biggest was just over 20 inches. Nothing great! BUT! It was great to play hooky and get the boat wet again!
On a second note…
That was the first time I met “Resot Boy” on dry land, and, I just have to say that he is super stand up kinda guy! He was very helpful as far as picking good colors, and he even talked me out of a sale on some jigs! So! Hats off to you James! And next time I will see you on the river!February 17, 2004 at 11:30 pm #293055He said what!!!!
Boy next thing he will say that he has shot bigger bucks with his bow than me!!!!!

December 19, 2003 at 5:21 pm #285786Hey Mike
Crystal can be a decent crapie and sunfish lake, and with enough hammerhandle pike to keep the tip ups flying! I havent fished it a caouple of years so, as for current ice, I am not much help! You as a bass dude would have alot of fun on this lake in the summer! There are some hogs in there!

http://www.AtHomeOnTheLake.comDecember 19, 2003 at 5:05 pm #285785Hey Big Iffie!
Both lakes can be good, The key as in any ice fishing is to get away from the crowds! It amazes me every time what a little noise does to the bite. Get your self a good lake map, and look for breaks into deeper water. Can’t give you specifics, but there is some good spots, just takes a little poking around to find them!
Most productive depths have been in the 23-25 range, I am not sure on East, but I am going to head there this evening!!Cory Frantzick

I have always used the Thorne Bros Custom rods. How do the St. Croix’s compare? I never even knew St. Croix made ice rods!

December 8, 2003 at 5:57 pm #284476I just want to post a message about these guys.
I did not know them well. In fact! None of them would even know me. But they did touch my life! I grew up in Hastings, and had many a morning hunting down at North Lake. That is where I first met Dennis Evans and Denny Portz. They were always friendly and offered up advice to this green horn. In fact, when it came time to buy my own first set of decoys, These two guys gave me a GREAT deal on my first set of decoys! They even have There names on the bottoms yet, and so this fall throwing them out took on a whole new meaning.
The Squires family, First I want to say that I am terribly saddened to hear of his accident. Rick I had only met a few times, But his dad! I had the pleasure of meeting him numerous times, even saw his shack in the bottoms. So many memories that bring a smile to my face!
I for one am gonna do my darndest to get there on Friday!Cory Frantzick
December 3, 2003 at 7:43 pm #283841Well Said Mr Positive!!
