no need for feeling ingnorant. I have been wanting to ask this very question. This happens to me ALL the time, especially when using light tackle.

I asked the guy at Cabela’s,and they said that I need to get a line that has little/no memory. WRONG!! Unless it is just operator error, the line with little memory at least for me is almost worse that anything else. I really hope you can get some answers to this question. It drives me nuts. I think I spend more time untwisting my line, than I actually do fishing.

I go up a couple of times a year, and it does indeed get very green. As far as boating on the weekends, it depends where you are. Generally not real bad and very fishable. Haven’t had real good luck bass fishing for some reason, but walleye’s, with Jig and a leech has always worked for us. Good luck if you go up, and let me know how you do.

I was just up in Serona WI Over Memorial weekend, (Up by spooner). I started getting picky after a limit of 3/4 lb sunnies. Also caught a limit of Crappie’s around the 3/4 to 1 lb range. The lake is called Deep Lake. Minnows and crawlers. Needless to say, it was a blast, even in the rain.

I think that I have finally figured it with the help from Jon Jordan. Thanks Jon.

Certainly. All were caught on one spinnerbait. Yellow, Orange and Brown/copper colored. I couldn’t believe it.

Update. I went from shore to the Wing damn by Mr. Sippi’s. Ended up catching about a dozen bass, with only one being non legal size. On the 3rd cast however, I hooked into what turned out to be a very nice 7lb largemouth. On the Next 10 of so casts, I brought in 3 more of these same size hogs. Thanks again for the info, That was a blast . I will post some pictures as soon as I can.
