I have an older Humminbird (Matrix 67) and a Lowrance 332. After using both units for 2 seasons, I beleive the Humminbird is more user friendly. I bought the 332 because my 67 would not accept map chips with 1″ contours. It’s hard to compare the units because the 67 is B&W. I like both units but the lowrance loses bottom more often and will pick up intereference from the Humminbird. The Humminbird does not pick up interfeence from the Lowrance. If buying today, I would probably lean toward Humminbird.

When I brought my Statos in last fall to CP and had a question about an issue I had being covered under warranty, the service rep told me they thought Stratos would cover it. She then told me they were having the same issues with the Rangers and told me that Ranger was tough to work with on warranty issues. I told her that surprised me and that I had only heard of good things about Rangers customer service. About 6 weeks later CP calls me up and told me the Stratos rep told them my issue was caused by me and would not be covered. At the Minneapolis sportshow this spring I ran into a Stratos rep at the CP both and started to discuss my problem with him. He told me he would have been the one that would have looked at my boat and that he never was CP to look at a Stratos with the issue I had. I thought that was interesting.

Would small shallow slews hold leeches? What are the differences between leeches and bloodsuckers. I have heard fish will not eat bloodsuckers?

My parents were in Banff last September. When they crossed the border to get into Montana the border patrol asked if they could prove they were U.S, residents. My dad showed the border patrol a MN driver’s license. The patrol told my dad this does not prove you are a resident, only that you can operate a vehicle. The patrol did tell them that in 2007 they would need to prove residency to get back into the U.S.. Maybe the Border Patrol was confused on flying vs. driving, but we are telling everyone in our party to have a passport this year.

I was Cabela’s last night. Picked up a set of Guidewear bibs and the a Guidewear insulated parka with a zip out liner for $300. Could have got the same thing in a non-insulated parka without the liner for about $230 for the pair. Power Pro line is 30% off. I could have picked up a Shimano Stradic with a a Cabela’s XML rod for $135. When I got home I saw that I had a $20 off coupon for any purchase of $100. Just my luck.

Add the amplitude scope option you’ll see virtually no delay

Is the amplitude scope something new? I have a 332 and am not familiar with this feature. Could you explan what it does, and where to find it in the menu settings?

    Thanks

I recently was using my LX-3 and 332c in the same fish house. We were fishing 38′ of water. The lowrance did not have an issue, the Marcum however did pick up interference. I did have to send the Marcum back in however because it was a defective unit. Not sure if teh new unit will have interference issues or not.

    Scott,
The Gain was set between 5 and 6 at times. This was a brand new unit, first time beign used. I exchanged it tonight at the retailer. I hope the new one works. I am heading up to LOTW on Thursday.

I am not sure how many fish were suspended. I had a lot of clutter from 28-35 feett. It may even have been baitfish. I will probably have to play with the Lowrance a little more. I really liked the lowrance, especailly in graph mode, in fact my 8 year old wanted the Lowrance rather than the Marcum. After having a conversation with Marcum this afternoon, they are convinced I have been extremely unlucky and have had two defective units. I will be exchanging this one also. I had no interference issues with the Lowrance. The Marcum was the only one of the three that had an issue.
Thanks to all who have responded to my post
