Wallace, you will love that suit when you get to Cananda and riding on the sleds all day in -20. They do a great job of keeping ya warm without over heating.

For lakers I use the graphite professionals in either 36″ or 42″. I have a 45″ also. Some of the walleye sweethearts in longer lengths are fun also if you like a little bit lighter action rods. The glass rods are a little cheaper and do the job but I feel that don’t have the feel that the graphite does.
December 6, 2010 at 1:37 am #914735I got all three also Luke and the quiverstick gets my nod too cause I am not much of a sight fisherman. I love pounding small jigs and those QS’s have an amazing touch.
April 8, 2010 at 3:07 pm #862094I guess I am not so bad, I write righty, throw lefty, shoot rifles right, shotguns left. Catch wtih right hand in baseball and catch with left hand as a goalie in hockey….spinning reels left, and baitcaster right…Guess I cant make up my mind
March 12, 2010 at 1:52 am #852586Its getting close to popping here too Outfitter. There are a ton of snmall air holes popping up letting the water drain. I am thinking we may have an early ice out for sure.
February 26, 2010 at 7:23 pm #846761This is funny cause it happened after the arena was emptied. It was over an hour after the ceremonies that they went out there and partied. The underage thing was dumb for sure tho. As for going for a post game skate and drink, doesn’t strike me as something that really needs to be investigated. As for the parental supervision law, I believe that only applies on Private property, not in a public arena.
February 23, 2010 at 4:52 am #845121I was glued to the edge of my seat. Little upset we couldn’t put the puck past Miller more. Man was he outstanding. 42 saves, Amazing goalie. Now Canada has to buckle up and win a couple more so we have a chance at a medal.

Have the Rapala game and am a bass fisherman, still think it sucks. Also played the new one from bass pro with the pole, it also sucks as the reel handle is not used to battle the fish, only to drive the boat.
You need to go into controller setup and change it to option 2, then it reels in the fish by cranking the handle. I like the bass pro game but still think a muskie game would be cool by having to do figure 8s and stuff with the wii.February 15, 2010 at 7:38 pm #842690Northern Manitoba and Northern Saskatchewan are know for monster pike(50″+). I know alot of these places advertise other fish but northern pike have become a huge draw in the last few years. I am being asked to fish pike more and more every year. I am guessing the higher demand and increased traffic means higher rates. Plus fly-ins have had to increase prices to compensate for the higher gas prices especially in remote areas. They are probably paying 5 bucks a gallon for av-gas if not more.

Heres a link to the summary page. Lake of the Woods is Zone 5. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask.
February 9, 2010 at 3:40 am #840932There are a few camps open in the winter but most are on Crow with access to Lake of the woods. Nestor Falls also has a local hotel that may help you out. I am kinda bias to a certain camp in the winter but any place you stay will be suitable and they all offer housekeeping I believe.
February 8, 2010 at 7:16 pm #840751Gordie(807-484-2103) always has a road plowed out of his place on Sabaskong Bay Road to the most popular crappies holes. Right now the crappies have been tough but the jumbo perch and walleye have been good. The lake travel is bumpy with a sled as we had alot of wind making drifts. Pike fishing is usually quite good too. I have not been out on the road in a week or so but plan on going sometime this week.
January 19, 2010 at 3:22 am #833572I hope you get it back. I know I almost cried when I let a friend borrow my walleye sweetheart(and rod bag) and when I opened the rod bag I got 2 pieces…Very big bummer, friend replaced the rod but it was just a shelf one not my custom one.
January 18, 2010 at 12:05 am #833067I thought it was professional sports we were watching not toddler league where we should congratulate the losers or even better call it a tie and everyone wins. Also its the playoffs, play till the end, try and score on every possession and let the next team your playing know that you don’t quit no matter what. I thought they could have pulled the starters tho, oh well not my call.
January 14, 2010 at 1:13 am #831943I hope its true. These groups are gaining too much power and they expect to stop hunting and fishing cause they think we should. Kind of like the whale hunting activist that got hit by a huge whaling ship. They blamed a 100 foot whaling ship for running into them when they are in a speed boat, as if they couldn’t get out of way of ship that is moving at what 12 mph…. Come on
January 13, 2010 at 1:29 am #831580Do some research and find something that fits your needs, then call them and talk to them in person to get a feel of the place. There are a million camps on a thousand lakes so the options are pretty much limitless. Figure out whether you want american plan, all-inclusive, fish species, boat rental, sand beach, fly-in etc. Also maybe look into Sunset country which is kind of a host website for a large area that will do some of the searching for you.
January 10, 2010 at 9:50 pm #272360I love it. We are talking about it in a fishing forum, so it gets exposure. Every radio and sports station plays his antics. Its sports entertainment. How would we know who the classy and great players were if there was no one acting stupid to make them look better. I don’t agree with most of it but I do watch them. The fake bribe was great, and he knew he was going to get fined. They want people to watch and he gets them to watch. Howard Stern has his own empire because people want to hear what he is going to say next, and people watch the bengals cause they want to see what he is going to do next. I am not saying alot of his antics aren’t too much but if the nfl wasn’t benefiting from him they would suspend him for outburst not just fine him. Someday I am sure he will go overboard but I know millions will tune in hoping to see the time he does.

January 8, 2010 at 3:44 am #830932Nestor Falls Ontario Canada
Kokanee, labatts, alexander keiths, moosehead, molson….actually any beer but guinessJanuary 8, 2010 at 12:20 am #830862I have most of mine custom built now cause I like the new syncork handles. I just tried my new quiverstick with it today and its nice. Its so light that you can feel any kind of weight or movement on the line. Like Luke said you need to match a lightweight high quality reel or else you delete the purpose of a sensitive rod.
January 6, 2010 at 4:32 pm #830255Coming from a Canadian that game was intense. I have no finger nails left and I believe my hair is falling out. 2 great games this tournament between the teams and definitely awesome games to watch. Can’t wait till next years tournament now.
January 2, 2010 at 1:33 am #828668I fish all thornes. From my 28″ quiverstick to my 45″ custom pro graphite for trout.
December 29, 2009 at 3:31 pm #827539I check it everyday!!! Love it, and makes me look in a mirror before I leave the house!
December 29, 2009 at 3:30 pm #827535Right now I am using a $10 hard sided rifle case and I have my 45″ trout rod in it. I believe I am getting an otter rod case for this winter tho as my friend got one and it is sweet and durable. I am so hard on equipment that I need to try and start taking alot of care of them or I will be broke just replacing everything.
December 29, 2009 at 3:24 pm #827531I have owned every company of flasher and used every unit I believe that is made. That is the joy of guiding ice fishing is every fisherman fishes with his own unit and I have seen most of them. Right now I own a vx-1, and a lowrance 332c adapted to ice. I gave my brother my fl-18 a year or 2 back(loved it but he needed it more than me). This year I will be using a humminbird ice-45. I have loved all my units and all have hleped me catch fish. Here is a quick jot of my reasonings for each one.
Lowrance-great unit but also my main summer unit so try to only use it when necessary as I am hard on equipment.
Marcum(vx-1)-3 years, 3 transducers. But great price and has zoom. Lx-5(awesome unit) I have grown a supersticion to them spooking trout(please don’t give me crap for it but I have had several issues, we don’t need this topic getting more dragged off topic telling me I am crazy for this).
Vexilar-Durable Durable Durable. Liked when they came out with the flat screen.
Showdown-Not a flasher, I might as well use my lowrance(color and bigger screen)
Humminbird-Love the screen and used one in the SAME hole last year with my marcum and lowrance with no interference(I was impressed) but we will see as it is still relatively new on the market. I have tried to put these units to the test as much as possible and also be unbiased with each model. This just shows one persons feelings and experiences. I hope Nextbite you love your unit and you will like how it really helps you catch fish.December 27, 2009 at 2:40 pm #826898Great units, I have a vx-1 but would really really like it if they would come out with a flat screen cause I am about sick of cleaning out the face especially cause I run and gun alot. I don’t know who to talk to over there but I think a flat screen is definitely one of my biggest selling points right now.
December 22, 2009 at 12:57 am #825397In response to you Jeremy, simcoe is also known for jumbo perch.
