Adjust the spool tensioner on the right side of your baitcaster till your lure (weight doesn’t matter) will just barely fall from the rod tip in free spool. Imagine that your elbow is stapled to your torso, and cast with your forearm and wrist ONLY. Learn to lightly “thumb the spool” to slow the reel down as the lure hits the water. That is the basic info. NOW, practice, practice. You’ll get the hang of it. When casting in the yard, you’ll also get a big laugh when a neighbor asks if you are catching any….

All Nissans are made by Tohatsu Motors, and they are fine motors. Look under the cover and take a look at the castings, and the fit and finish, much better than any I’ve seen. I’ve got a ’96 Three cyl 40hp (converted to 50)on a 14/48 john boat, and I’ve beat the crap out of that thing for eight years now, at least 10-20 trips a year, and it is still strong. I mean literally beat it. I’ve hit stumps, jump logs regularly, tore up a prop or two, and no complaints from the motor. I fish hard, on a nasty river that takes its toll on every boat at some point and the Tohatsu remains bulletproof. All I do is change gear oil and plugs, and run the devil out of it. Dang fine motor. I’d buy another one, if this one would give it up.

That’s one hell of a Blue… In the Altamaha River we got 100lb Flatheads, but that’s the biggest Blue I ever saw.

The law is the law, and in Ga., short fish can be worth 150.00 each….Buzzards gotta eat, same as worms. Years ago my Pa and I decided on the way if we were “fishing to fish” or “fishing to eat”, and on the “eat days” they ALL got kept, regardless of size. I still do that occasionally, for fish fries and such, but I do it knowing the consequenses if I get caught.

That’s my baby, Cuddles, I have her trained so well, I no longer have to deer hunt… she just brings ’em home. Now if I could get her to observe QDM and Antler restrictions.

Oh yeah, used to do quite a lot, but now the tide is turning and the lawmakers are trying to run Dog Hunters out of business. It is becoming cost prohibitive. Lot’s of fun though, if you have a good group. Am I the only Redneck here???
