They were alive and well yesterday afternoon..Pulled into Blackhawk and not a boat trailer in sight. Figured the bite was not there, but put in anyway. The saugers were on a feeding frenzy, trolling firetiger rapala. Caught 35 fish in 3 hours, kept 5 17 to 18.5…And never saw another boat It was a TIP TOP day….Left a note with the wife this am I may be on the water again this aft

Thanks for the information, looks like one will need to cruise the river shorelines at low water to find them clams….

How do you go about locating clam beds, can you see them on your electronics? I have fished clam bed areas, but am curious on locating new ones!

I was out on Pool 9 yesterday, Minnesota Slough area, caught 15, all keepers, largest was 21″. Quite a bit of boat traffic out there, the bite seemed to pick up later in the day when there wasn’t as much traffic. About even action on the Dubuque rig.

Spent 3 hours late yesterday, caught 12, kept 6 eaters, 3 w alleyes and 3 saugers, all between 16 and 18 inches. Seemed like they had a preference for a electric blue ringie, 18-20 ft. Spent all the time up by the dam

Last time I was at Genoa was on Tuesday, bite was slow, lots of debris/ice coming down from above. I think by this weekend most of it should be through. I kept 3 16-17″, all caught vertical jigging chartreuse ringworms, with a stinger. All the fish I caught were on the stinger.

Fished below Genoa yesterday, things were very slow. There is ice coming from above the dam, and the water is very dirty. My guess with this rain, it will be a week or so before things shape up.

Yupper, pool 9. Heading down that direction again this evening, might try those willowcats out, I’ve never fished with em, so it should be interesting.

We drove right up to customs both ways, no wait even! A couple of questions, and we were on our way. I did hear from a friend of mine that a group he knew was turned back from going into Canada. Driving violations(OWI), I think was the reason.

Curious about the bluegill bite, what depth of water are these fish being caught in, are people using bobbers, or fishing off the bottom? Thanks for the info!
