Mike, Sorry for your loss, It sounds like he was a great man. ALS haunts my family and its a very sad disease. I hope others read this and support your efforts. Good luck on your goal and thank you for posting and doing this.

Im a river guy and you can’t beat a tiller for controll and useable space, yes it’s cold in the winter and the rain is harsh on the face but its worth it for the controll. I also run a Tuffy and with I-pilot you have the tools for the best controll witch means more fish. Tillers all the way!

Just sold my nova it was a good gun but it was very loose and clanky. It had always bothered me. My opion go with an 870. I liked the ones I have shot no slop in them.

Had the same boat, loved it. Its not to bad of a job there’s so much you can do with that project for cheap. I had a 180 Rampage where the floor had gone bad and the previous owner laid another sheet of plywood over the old floor and recarpeted it. Sounds like a bad idea but it worked great. that boat does’nt have much dry storage so I built a rear casting deck on mine to keep the battery charger out of the weather, it made for a lot of dry storage and was great to fish off of. its a inexpensive project that can offer alot with that boat and its not to hard to do

I had the same problem with my 60 but I had removed the VRO pump. Found an air leak developed where I capped it off, new cap did the trick runs like a top. make sure you VRO doesnt have any cracks in the line to suck air. Compression check is a good idea to. Good luck

I have a 60hp with the vro removed, no oil tank in the boat and I always know its getting oil. I also have a large fuel tank so I don’t have to fill up on the water wicth I could see being a hassle, carring and mixing oil at the dock. All in all doesnt bother me not having it.
