sorry guys as fun as these targets are, we do sell some exploding targets, however can not allow them to be shot here as they contribute to a fire hazard.

IM BACK !!!! ANYWAYS, YES HERE ARE SOME DETAILS FOR A CONCEALED CARRY CLASS. THE STANDARD CHARGE FOR THE CLASS IS $150 HOWEVER WE HAVE WORKED OUT A SPECIAL DEAL FOR IDA PEOPLE. CONTACT ME OR BRIANK FOR DETAILS ON THIS. THE ONLY OTHER EXPENSE WOULD BE 50 ROUNDS OF AMMUNITION FOR THE PROFICIENCY TEST. THE CLASS IS APX 6 HOURS LONG, 5 HRS IN THE CLASS ROOM, AND 1 HR ON THE RANGE.

MN STATUTE REQUIRES TRAINING IN BASIC USE OF HANDGUN, A PROFICIENCY TEST AND TRAINING IN LEGALITIES OF CARRY. MY CLASS WITH BILLS GUN SHOP GOES OVER ALL OF THOSE IN DETAIL, HOWEVER WE GO BEYOND THAT AS WELL. YOU WILL LEARN DIFFERENT LEVELS OF AWARENESS(THAT IN ITSELF STOPS MAJORITY OF POTENTIAL VICTIMS FROM BECOMING ACTUAL VICTIMS), WHAT TO EXPECT DURING BEFORE AND AFTER A DEADLY FORCE ENCOUNTER, A LOT OF THINGS THAT YOU CAN DO NOW TO DETER, OR BETTER YOUR CHANCES OF SURVIVAL(BOTH IN SELF DEFENSE, AND IN COURT), ALTERNATIVES TO ATTACK, CONFLICT AVOIDANCE, POLICE ENCOUNTERS DURING AND AFTER SELF DEFENSE, ETC.

WITH OUT GIVING THE CLASS HERE ONLINE YOU WILL LEAVE OUR CLASS WITH MORE ASSURANCE, CONFIDENCE, AND KNOWLEDGE THAN ALOT OF OTHER MCCC CLASSES OUT THERE.

I WILL BE TEACHING THE CLASS, AND WE CAN SCHEDUAL IT TO WHAT EVER TIME AND DATE WOULD WORK FOR MOST PEOPLE. THANK YOU FOR THE INTEREST.

JUST LOOKIN THROUGH THIS NOT SURE IF ITS STILL ACTIVE.

MN DOES NOT AS OF YET HAVE A CASTLE DOCTRINE. SO NO YOU CANT SHOOT SOMEONE JUST BECAUSE THEY BROKE INTO YOUR HOUSE, OR ARE STEALING SOMETHING. YOU STILL HAVE THE REQUIREMENT TO RETREAT IN THE HOME, BUT NOT OUT OF THE HOME…IE. YOU CANT STAND AT THE FRONT DOOR AND WAIT FOR THEM TO COME IN, YOU HAVE TO RETREAT TO THE FURTHEST PART OF THE HOUSE USUALLY THE MASTER BEDROOM.

THAT BEING SAID IF AT ANY POINT IN TIME YOU RESONABLY BELIEVE THAT YOU ARE IN IMMINENT DANGER OF DEATH OR GREAT BODILY HARM , YOU HAVE THE RIGHT OF SELF DEFENSE.

AS THE STATUTE READS YOU CAN USE LEATHAL FORCE TO STOP THE COMMISION OF A FELONY IN YOUR ABODE. CASE LAW HAS NARROWED THIS DOWN TO A VIOLENT FELONY. THE LAST I HEARD THEY ARE TRYING TO PUT THROUGH LEGISLATION THAT WILL ALLOW THE CASTLE DOCTRINE IN MN.

    HOPE THIS HELPS

HERES THE WAY OF DRY FIREING. YOU SHOULD NOT DRY FIRE 1) A RIMFIRE FIREARM, 2)A BREAK ACTION FIREARM SUCH AS A DOUBLE BARRELED SHOTGUN, 3)OR A FIREARM THAT HAS A FIXED FIRING PIN ON THE HAMMER.(MAINLY SEEN IN REVOLVERS)

REASON BEING FOR #2 IS THAT THE BARREL IS STRONGER THAN THE FIRING PIN, IF THE BARREL ISNT FULLY OPENED OR CLOSED THE PIN CAN STRIKE THE BARREL DENTING, BENDING OR BREAKING THE PIN, LEADING TO A WEAK PRIMER STRIKE OR NO PRIMER STRIKE.

THE REASON FOR #2 IS THAT SINCE THE FIRING PIN IS PART OF THE HAMMER IF THE FIRING PIN DOESNT STRIKE SOMETHING(PRIMER, SNAP CAP ETC) THE HAMMER STRIKES THE FRAME, DUE TO THE LAW OF INERTA,(RISISTANCE TO CHANGE) THE FIRING PIN WANTS TO KEEP GOING. DO THIS ENOUGH AND YOU END UP WITH A STRESS FRACTURE IN THE FIRE PIN IE NO FIREPIN.

REASON FOR #1 IS SIMILAR TO #3

SO WHY CAN I DRY FIRE MODERN DAY PISTOLS RIFLES SHOTGUNS??
BECAUSE THEY HAVE A FREE FLOATING FIREPIN SYSTEM. MEANING THE FIREPIN IS NOT PART OF THE HAMMER, AND IS CONTAINED BY A SPRING. THIS DOES NOT HURT THE FIRING PIN TO DRY FIRE THEM. I PERSONALLY DRY FIRE MY CARRY GUN APX. 20 TIMES A DAY WHEN I FIRST PUT MY GUN ON. IT HELPS ME WITH MY DRAW, AND MY FRONT SIGHT- TRIGGER SQUEEZE ANY OTHER QUESTION JUST ASK!!!

YES, RULE #1 ALL GUNS ARE ALLWAYS LOADED. I HAVE A WALL IN MY HOUSE THAT I DRY FIRE TO. THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WALL….. DIRT!!! FIND YOUR SELF A SAFE AND SECURE PLACE TO PRACTICE THE DRY FIRE.

HEY NICK, AS FOR A GUN SAFE, THEY MAKE SOME NICE LITTLE ONES OUT THERE. I JUST TOOK A LOOK AT A COUPLE HERE AT BILL’S, THE ONE THAT I USUALLY RECOMEND IN MY MCCC CLASS IS A V-LINE. IT IS A BUTTON LOCK SYSTEM. BY MEANS OF HOW THE HUMAN MIND IS TRAINED WE ARE NOT USED TO HAVING TO PUSH TWO BUTTONS AT THE SAME TIME. I HAVE HAD TWO INSTRUCTORS THAT HAVE TESTED THE ABILITY OF THE SAFE WITH THEIR KIDS, ONE PUT $40 IN THE SAFE AND THE OTHER STOCKED THE SAFE WITH CANDY. BOTH GAVE THE SAFE TO THEIR KIDS FOR 3 DAYS AND WERE TOLD IF THEY COULD GET IT OPEN THEN THEY COULD KEEP WHAT WAS INSIDE. NEITHER SAFE WAS OPENED BY THE KIDS. AT THE SAME TIME IT TAKES ABOUT 1.5-2 SECONDS TO OPEN THE SAFE IF YOU KNOW THE COMBINATION. THIS ALLOWS FOR YOU TO KEEP 1-2 GUNS IN THE SAFE, FULLY LOADED(SEE BELOW), YET GET TO THEM IN A HURRY SHOULD THEY BE NEEDED. THIS V-LINE IS PRICED AT $131 AND IS WELL WORTH ITS PRICE. IT IS SLIM, SMALL, AND WOULD FIT ON A DRESSER, NIGHTSTAND, ETC.

WE ALSO HAVE AN ADG SAFE LITTLE BIT BIGGER, BUT WOULD STILL FIT ON A DRESSER, NIGHTSTAND, ETC NICELY. IT IS A TOP OPENING SAFE WITH BOTH BUTTON AND KEY LOCK (EITHER WILL OPEN THE SAFE) SIMILAR TO THE V-LINE, WILL HOLD A GUN OR TWO MORE, AND ALSO SMALL VALUABLES. THIS ONE IS PRICED AT $120

AS FOR KEEPING LOADED GUNS/MAGAZINES IN THE HOUSE, IT IS PERFECTLY LEGAL TO DO SUCH, HOWEVER IF/WHEN CHILDREN ARE INVOLVED PLEASE FOLLOW FOLLOWING MN STATUTES.(MOST STATES STATUTE ARE SIMILAR TO MN)
MN SS SECTION609.666 NEGLIGENT STORAGE OF FIREARMS

Subdivision 1. Definitions. For purposes of this
section, the following words have the meanings given.

    (a) “Firearm” means a device designed to be used as a
weapon, from which is expelled a projectile by the force of any explosion or force of combustion.

    (b) “Child” means a person under the age of 18 years.

    (c) “Loaded” means the firearm has ammunition in the
chamber or magazine, if the magazine is in the firearm, unless the firearm is incapable of being fired by a child who is likely to gain access to the firearm.

Subd. 2. Access to firearms. A person is guilty of a gross misdemeanor who negligently stores or leaves a loaded firearm in a location where the person knows, or reasonably should know, that a child is likely to gain access, unless reasonable action is taken to secure the firearm against access by the child.

Subd. 3. Limitations. Subdivision 2 does not apply
to a child’s access to firearms that was obtained as a result of an unlawful entry.

THIS MEANS IF YOU HAVE YOUR “FIREARM” LOCKED IN A SAFE THAT A CHILD REASONABLY CANT GET INTO, IT IS OK TO LEAVE THE “FIREARM LOADED. ANOTHER WAY TO LEAVE A GUN LOADED IS TO PLACE A TRIGGER LOCK ON IT. (AS LONG AS THE CHILD “REASONABLY” CANT GET TO OR USE THE GUN IT IS OK TO LEAVE IT LOADED.

    HOPE THIS HELPS

CONGRADULATIONS ON THE NEW GUN NICK, EXCELLENT CHOICE!! BRIANK GAVE A GREAT OVER ALL OF BILLS NORTH STORE. HERE IN ROBBINSDALE WE ARE TYPICALLY A LITTLE BUSIER, HOWEVER ONE OF THE THINGS THAT WE PRIDE OUR SELVES ON IS TAKING TIME OUT FOR THE CUSTOMER TO GO OVER THEIR GUN WITH THEM, GETTING THEM 100% COMFORTABLE WITH THIER FIREARM, AND ALSO HELPING THEM OUT A BIT WITH SHOOTING ISSUES, SUCH AS ACCURACY, MALFUNCTIONS, AND QUESTIONS. AS AN INSTRUCTOR I CAN ALSO OFFER ONE-ON-ONE TRAINING TO GET YOU WHERE YOU WANT TO BE.

THE XD EXTREME (4″ BARREL) IS A GREAT GUN THAT HAS A FEW ADDED THINGS OVER THE GLOCK. THE LOADED CHAMBER INDICATOR IS A GREAT THING, YOU DONT HAVE TO PRESS-CHECK THE GUN EVERY TIME YOU QUESTION THE STATE OF YOUR GUN. THE COCKED INDICATOR IS NICE BUT AS MENTIONED USUALLY NOT NECESSARY. THE GRIP SAFETY MAKES THE GUN A STAGE BETWEEN A NO SAFE GUN AND A MANUAL SAFE GUN. HOWEVER REMEMBER YOU ARE THE SAFETY OF THE GUN.

ANY OTHER QUESTIONS, WOULD BE HAPPY TO ANSWER

Not a problem. Tactical Tuesdays is a training class that occurs every Tuesday (hence the name) at Bills Gun Shop and Range in Robbinsdale. The class ranges from basic fundamentals to shoot-don’t-shoot situations to use of cover. it is an excellent answer to “I have my concealed carry permit, now what!!!!!”

We rotate weeks of the month. The first tuesday of the month we focus more on shooting fundamentals, front sight trigger squeeze, distance, reloads, malfunction clearances etc.

The second week we might do more shoot-don’t-shoot scenarios. usually having tac-man targets (look like mannequin’s) dressed in shirts and hats. we will do scenarios, like resteraunt, your home, the street etc.

the third week we focus on steel shooting, sillhouetes, 5 inch plates, 8 inch plates, dueling tree’s, hostage steel etc. shooting steel, especially in a competition mode is a very humbling experience. this is when the true “spray and pray” strategy comes out and is proven ineffective.

week four brings movement, shooting from cover, and clearing doors.(this is not a class to teach you how to clear your house, that is what the cops are for, however if you should ever need to get to another room to get to a loved one, you will have the appropriate skills.

the class is $35, runs 6-9pm, allows you to work from a holster and from concealment. there are few chances for civilians to work this way after they get their concealed carry permit. you will find your skills growing week by week, but is situated that if you miss a week your not out of the loop.
I help instruct the class, and weeks im not instructing you will find me shooting along with you.

this class will be starting up the second week in sept. i will keep you guys posted in any changes in curriculum or dates. this class may work into a 6-8 week rotation. and also we will be having a similar class on wendsdays starting in the fall

    thank you much

Just a little information on Bill’s Gun Shop’s archery range
we have 6 lanes composed of the BLOCK target system.
There is enough room to shoot up to 30yds
    The cost is $5/hour
    No crossbows. Sorry
we do have regular targets, however no animal targets.

Our north store does not have an archery range. sorry.
Calling in advance to coming is suggested so as to catch any inconvience to anyone, as if we have a class in our back class room I cannot let anyone shoot archery. this doesnt happen frequently, however i would hate to have anyone drive aways and get turned away for that reason.
