Don’t think I would like it. Hunting and fishing is the only time I get any peace and quiet.

When I got my first diesel the price of fuel was around $4.40 per gallon in fall of ’05. Can’t beat putting a few hundred thousand miles on a truck and not touching the motor. The motor is going to out last the truck. Haven’t looked back after getting rid of the gas after seeing how they last when pulling a lot.
July 17, 2012 at 3:24 am #1084396Mandatory drivers test every liscence renewal after 60. Every year after 75 or so. Some people should not be driving.
April 17, 2012 at 3:02 am #1059617I would not soak them for that long or they get soggy. I usually soak them for the better part of a day then rinse and dry and put in fridge. You do not need to freeze if you are going to eat in a few days.

February 11, 2011 at 9:30 pm #936718With the tens of millions that Rochester and Olmsted County have spent of new maintenance buildings this year, the potholes better be fixed. But I am sure we will continue to have crap roads. Can spend millions on a public works building but run out of snow removal budget a month into the snow season? Sure like how taxpayer dollars are at work for us.
February 11, 2011 at 9:24 pm #936717Still a far cry from the $4.65 or so we were paying a few years ago.
January 4, 2011 at 10:53 pm #922603I would get the tank pumped. If it is an emergency and you wont upset anyone by doing it you can put a pump in the tank and run the hose out onto the ground if it cannot be fixed right away. Have only seen this done as a last resort or if a mound system freezes up.
January 4, 2011 at 10:46 pm #922601Your insurance will cover it. Otherwise you are paying for nothing. I would not think the business would be immediatly liable but if your insurance company goes after them it should not involve you.
October 28, 2010 at 2:05 am #906670When I built my house this winter I had the same problem because it would have cost me $6000 to run a phone line out to my place. Any type of internet around here that uses satellite was a rip off and have had bad experiences with that. I ended up with getting the MIFI wireless internet card from verizon. But I do have very good service where I am at, so this might not work if you have bad service. The speed has been just a good as broadband was in town. I know some people use their Droid for this also.
August 17, 2010 at 2:40 am #893744Can’t imagine there is not a landscaper around to do this unless they are too busy with other things.
August 7, 2010 at 2:55 am #891680I know a guy that told me to freeze it in the husk and then microwave it in the husk and peel and eat. I also know someone that freezes it raw and adds salt water and sugar to it. Always tastes like crap both ways. I blanch and then cut off the cob and lay the corn on cookie sheets in the freezer and then put in bags once frozen. Takes a little more time but it thaws faster and you do not have a giant frozen blob of corn. Also tastes like it was fresh I think.
July 22, 2010 at 4:24 am #888176I had one come apart in a half ton chevy one time and put a few hundred miles on it before I fixed it. Even used 4 wheel drive. But I was hopeing that it would go up in flames before I fixed it.
June 19, 2010 at 1:04 am #881229I swear everytime I go across the bridge it is like taking a trip back in time. To about 1975.
June 11, 2010 at 3:09 am #879062I have DirecTV and the service tech that came to my house last said that I need to call and have my billing address changed to change my local channels. I live 10 miles from Rochester but get Minneapolis channels. But my zip code is based off a town in the next county to the north.
If there is a way not to have to call I would also like to know.
April 19, 2010 at 12:50 am #864886I would rather catch nothing than go shopping on a day like today.
April 12, 2010 at 3:13 am #862947If you want to get rid of them why are you feeding them. They think that they are right at home in your house.
March 29, 2010 at 2:46 am #858266When I did mine last fall I called the Coop and met them and told them where everything is going. He later came and marked the line out after I decided where I wanted the transformer. He marked it out because the line is buried by a sub-contractor. They came and dug it in in few hours. My line was about 1850 long. They did not charge for the first 250 feet and it was 3.50 a foot after that if it was above or below ground. This price included the transformer and a 4 way splitter they put by the road for my future gate. The electrician supplied the meter box and ran power from there which I had him put it next to the transformer. The price they sharged me was exactly 3.50 a foot with no extras. It was a little over $5800 for mine. There was no transformer fee for me because everyone in the coop gets charged a monthly fee for that. And they do not start at a transformer unless the only lines near you are to high of voltage maybe.
I would talk to one of the engineers there. They should talk you through it. Mine was in SE Minnesota.

we got over 200 tappers out and have gotten only about 90 gallons of sap so far less than 2 inches in the pales in 2 days, you guys know if small trees work better than big ones? They have been out for about 9 days now
Maybe the cooler temps this weekend will help.
March 6, 2010 at 1:14 am #849912I like Best Buy. I buy everything there and rarely have a problem with there service. The only thing I would not make the mistake of buying there is cell phones. But part of the reason they treat me so good is because I buy so much there. Obviously if one person has a problem there it does not mean the whole company is going bad. I always buy service contracts on anything over 300 or so. They have paid for themselves. The most recently was the 4000 dollar tv that went bad two weeks after factory warranty. Gave me a new one, a better one. And a gift card.
