Gotta love the KISS approach suggested here. Sometimes we get carried away and try to be too cute. Mother Nature has proven over and over again that she can take care of things if given the chance.

Nice job, like the way you gave your report. Keep up the good work!

X2 for Arnesen’s, I have been going there at least once per winter for the past 15 years.

Nice to see that bite is still going. Can I ask what water temps you had? I have yet to re-visit it from more than a week ago, but was hoping that warmer water temps would make the bite go better.

    Thanks!

    Joel

We had 64.5 at the start of the day and 65.5 at the end.

Thanks for posting the picture. Any chance you have the winning weights?

Interesting question… I probably answer this question most often by going with the ramp closest to where I want to fish. Beyond that, the choice between pay and public has a lot to do with the area and my perception of the risks associated with the unattended public launch.

Thanks for the help guys. Do you think the tire issue is related or am I dealing with two problems?

They all probably have their day but one I will always have in the boat is purple/chart tail in multiple makes and models.

I have several that have been in use for many years and have not had a failure yet. Yes, there are better reels out there but these have worked fine for me. I fish salmon once a year otherwise strictly walleyes.

NOAA has a decent report/forecast usually too.

I’ve always thought that this would be a good idea too. For sure I would join a walleye club in this area and would also help out in getting it up and running.

Most of the fish we caught last night appeared to be healthy. We caught a 28″ fish that weighed 7 pounds on my digital scale. That seems a little light but not terrible. A couple of the shorter fish were very chunky.

Headed up tonight with a couple of buddies. Latest forecast looks pretty good, 50’s in the late afternoon cooling to around 40 by midnight and very light winds. We plan to fish in the SW corner from 6 to midnight. Good luck everyone!
