This is good news. Heading out there next week for our annual 3M walleye tournament. All though it will mean that the trees that were 1-2 feet out of the water last year will be just under the water this year. Lot of caution needed. Thanks for the update.

1st place was won on lower pool 4 wingdams, 2nd place was won on upper pool 4 pulling crank baits, and third place was won jigging the cuts on pool 3. You could launch your boat either at Diamond Bluff on pool 3 or Colville Park on pool 4. From thos 2 spots you could fish wherever your boat could take you.

The results were much better than anticipated. 1st place was 29+ lbs (6 fish) A.Mathees and L.Nesbitt, 2nd place was 14.75 lbs (4 fish, with big fish of tournament 8.99)J. Schommer and S. Johnson, 3rd place was 12.89 lbs (5 fish) M. Schommer and M. Schommer Jr.

You may enter this tournament as late as the evening of the rules meeting.

The question was brought up at the Frontenac tourney this past w.e. as to what a calcutta is. This is a auction where each team participating in the tournament is auctioned off. The public is welcome to participate. The highest bidder gets that particular team. The money raised is paid out 50%, 30%, and 20% to the bidder that bought either of the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place teams. This pay out is based on 20 boats. If there are more boats, more payoffs. The aution is the highlight of the rules meeting evening.

My son and I were on Woppogasett a week ago last night (12/1)trying for first ice eyes. Three to four inches of ice. Eyes did not cooperate. 2 flags, no fish!!

Sounds like a good time. The Gem is stoomping grounds for me. As far as the Diamond Bluff landing! It is a public landing with a 5.00 launch fee. There is plenty of parking about a 1/2 block from landing. Only problem is there is no landing dock. The shore line is deep enough and sandy so you are able to beach the boat will parking if you are alone.

Jon, great job on the 2nd stop of the IDA tour. Was a pleasure to finally meet you personaly.
