I am in very shallow, (sometimes only 1.5 to 2 ft. deep) Very Weedy, very calm water. Usually I work as far back as I can on a backwater inlet and work my way out towards the river. I will go as far up Trempealeau river as possible (usually around Millers pond) and work my way back going into every inlet I can find. I really think that now that the river levels are more back down to normal now, we should see a more stable and consistant top water bite. When I catch Bass it is usually always Large mouth. I catch 5 largemouth to every one smallie. Good luck!
