I had a yammi f60 on my 165t from new in 2005 as that was top rating then. In 2008 rating on new went to 75. Alumacraft re rated mine to 75. I bought a f75 as soon as i could get one. F60 was way too weak on low end for that much boat. I went from sort of liking my boat with the 60 to loving my boat with the 75. The 60 trolled slower and was quieter. Otherwise 75 rocks. Bought it from LaCannes. Great to deal with.

Maybe I misunderstand your post but have you read that a PowerDrive V1 non-auto pilot can be doctored somehow to install an ipilot? If so, please pass along where I can read up on that. I would love to save $1000+ vs buying new by making my old power drive ipilot capable.

I have used this type of light for several years for ice fishing. Works great. Its also nice to use during packing the house and gear up in the dark. Lots of other uses the rest of the year. Very light weight. Northern Tool often has them on sale for $20.

Ditto the pull card out at start up, put it in after. Does not have same problem when using Navionics card.

I should still have a version of 1.6 (or older) on my computer at home. PM me and I will see if I can figure out how to email it. I had it emailed to me from Lowrance when I had problems with “upgrading” to 1.7.

The GPS on mine has been fine but I do lose bottom at WOT much more than with previous Lowrance units I have had. Also have the problem with menus disappearing. When that happens I reload the software (very easy and quick). But then I have to re-do my screen set up preferences. This most often happens when I am switching between portable and boat mount.

On the plus side, it does a better job for hardwater walleye fishing than the Marcum LX5 I tried and returned last winter.

I am on day 11 since I called and emailed Marcum customer service. No response.

It doesn’t matter, I gave up and returned my unit to the store.

This is a follow-up on my Marcum LX5 issues.

Marcum customer service responded to me with a phone call within 15 minutes of my email. They gave me a return authorization number and instructions. I shipped the unit back per the instructions along with a letter re-stating what my problem was. The customer service person said that the unit would be checked out and fixed if required.

Six days later I got my unit shipped back to me. There was no indication in the box whether anything was found to be wrong with the unit or not. No indication if the transducer tested fine or was replaced, nothing. I also expected some recogition of my time and expense to send the unit back in, nothing. Neither my email or phone call to customer service 3 business days ago has been answered.

Because I have no idea what is wrong (if anything) on the unit, I ended up returning the unit this last weekend. My 60-day return window was on day 59 and I couldn’t wait any longer for a call back from Marcum.

All in all I have been a bit disapointed in the entire experience. I will keep using my old Lowrance 334i until I can attend an on-ice comparison of flashers like Marcum had last season.

Thanks to all of you that offered suggestions.

Just got a call from Marcum only about 15min after sending an email. That is what I call good response time.

Thanks to you guys for the quick feedback. I was in two different locations about 200yds apart so I don’t think it was a bottom variation issue. I did check the ducer multiple times to make sure it was not iced up and I am almost sure that I had it deep enough. The cable may have been touching the side of the hole but I wouldn’t think that would have changed ducer angle.

I have sent an email to Marcum with this question too.

The radio on my navigator 165 tiller is the high and rear part of port rod locker. So the radio face plate is just below my knees in front of me when fishing. 1 speaker is in the middle of back deck, forward facing panel, and 1 speaker on rear facing panel in front battery compartment. Antenna is a fold down deal next to gauge group.

I went to the Hennepin County booth at the sports show. But any Hennepin County court house will work. They do photo, form, the whole deal. I paid the expedite fee because I may need to leave the US for work. Expensive but I got it in 13 days.

I have a F75 Yamaha tiller. Does anyone know of a way/product that I can use to keep the motor from turning while trailering with a transom saver? No matter how tight I adjust the steering adjustment, it turns. This results in the motor riding so that the transom saver business end rests on the side of the motor’s lower unit instead of the front of the lower unit. Thanks

I have another install question. I am installing a transducer from a 334C. I would like to run the cable through the splash pan drain hole as this makes for a nice neat cable path (my old x85 is run that way). The blue threaded part of the plug is just a hair too big to get through the hole. Does anyone know if there is a way to pop the threaded part of the plug off and put it back on when I am done installing the cable?

The only other ideas I have come up with is that I could shave off a little of the plug or try puting some lube on the plug and push like heck.

    Any help is appreciated.
