The main part of the lake just froze over yesterday. If the temps stay where they are, we should have walkable ice by next week. Hopefully, we won’t see it break up again.
Will keep you updated as things change. Looking forward to a good season.

I would have to agree that the fishing this fall was excellent!. The North shore was very good in 5-8 fow with a jig and minnow combo. Very good Perch action as well near Stoney Point. The Dishes and Tamarack Point also gave up a lot of fish.

Looking forward to some great ice fishing this year. I will try to give weekly reports as the season gets underway.

Tamarack Bay is the entire NE side of the lake. Everything east of Tamarack Point and the gap. You should be able to access through the resorts on the east side. Tamarack Lodge or Pines Resort. They will also have info on where the fish are biting on their side of the lake. This is about as far away for Beckers as you can get though. I’m sure there are fish on the west side of the lake as well. I heard they were catching some nice Perch about a mile north of Ravens Point in 18-23 FOW. Good Luck!

I live on Lake Winnie and as of right now, the ice is very good. There are a couple of small ridges on the lake, but other than that, travel is good. Not too much water or slush. It stayed pretty cold yesterday so things firmed up nicely. Perch are biting very good in Tamarack Bay and along shoreline structure. You will need to do some sorting. Walleyes can be found in the late afternoon along the shoreline breaks and some of the midlake humps.
