didn’t hamper the cat bite at all tonight for the tournament.

…. anyone have any results from the cat tourny on pool 2?

    We took 4th.

Alot of nice fish were caught, biggest was 73 inches total. I will copy the results and post them up a little later today.

4 teams brought in over 100 inches of fish.

People keep saying that this can’t be done legally. Well, look at Christmas Lake. Something has to be done here. For realz.

the easiest, quickest, and most efficient way to solve this (and I am not joking) is to go to an infected metro lake two to three times a week, and fill up a couple buckets worth of milfoil and zeebs, and go dump it in the “clean” lakes, under the cover of darkness.

you would never get caught, and it would become infected. this would stop all of this nonsense right now!

these lakes are all connected one way or another, whether its by actual connecting streams, or the fisherman and animals that share the different waters.

they will get infected eventually. if we can just speed up the process, we will not find ourselves facing locked gates at most of the popular metro lakes.

How about an IDO “bucket dump” Get Together? I’ll organize it…

Is that a rope or electrical cord?

thats a rope. the half of the tree still standing was leaning pretty bad, so i convinced my neighbor to climb the tree about 30ft up and start cutting , once we had enough off the top, we cut and had 5 guys pulling on it to lay it back down in the yard.

we got it finished up tonight. my house now has a 7 ft privacy fence of tree and debris on the curb line…

i just need to rake up the yard is all.

but, i will say, i got off a lot better than a lot of people did. a lot of people lost parts or all of their homes, cars, etc.

i had minor to medium damage is all.

Ritter…when you getting that oak off my brother’s house?

    6/0 circle hooks for channels

9/0 or 10/0 J and Circle hooks for flats.

i always use circle hooks for cut bait with a set line, even when using large pieces of cut bait for flats.

as far as brands i currently am using gamakatsu and eagle claw.

I’m OK. Ritter’s oak landed on his neighbor’s house.

That would be my brothers house…

I lost a large ash tree in my back yard, hit my deck, 3 season porch and landed on two of my vehicles.

one neighbor behind me lost the largest maple tree i’ve ever seen, that took out multiple sections of fence, a couple sheds and hit two houses.

I started cutting wood at 6:00 AM and finished up at 9:30 PM. I still have work to do every day after work this week…

I lost a massive elm tree last year to dutch elm, and now i lose one of two ash trees in my backyard. I’ve pretty much lost all shade on my house now.

This storm sure did change the landscape around town…

with the bite that is happening on Mille Lacs this year, there is nothing better, period.

now…you won’t catch a ton of eaters, but if you like catching 20+ inch fish all day, then that is where you need to go.

get your leadcore rods rigged up and ready for open basin trolling, and the bobber bite on the mud at night.

    Pug,

I’m glad everything worked out and you obviously came out of this wiser for the next time you hit the river at night.

please do not take this wrong, but I would like to make an “armchair opinion” on something. which i feel we can, since everyone is ok. its good look back on how things happened.

    1. i run a good sized, and very wide jonboat, and i do not like standing up when going through very heavily timbered areas, such as backwater runs on P3 & P4. I’m not sure what kind of boat you are in exactly, but unless you have a grab bar or something secure to hold onto, it would probably be best to not stand up when running those areas.

    2. with how the flow can be in these runs, and the amount of debris (large log jams), i myself would rather tumble in the boat than ever take a swim in one of the runs. breaking an arm is better than going away forever.

I have had three very close calls on the river, one of which i’m still surprised i’m here today. and these are just the types of things i look when myself or someone else has a bad experience. what happened that led up to that experience, and what could have been different that would have prevented it.

and I will give you and others props for wearing a vest. as much as i try to do it when under power, i’m very lazy about it.

the other question is, did the commotion attract any fish?

i prefer camping on the big river myself.

during the day – walleye & bass fishing, boating, swimming, etc. then sneak off for some flatheads at night.

it is not very “camper friendly” at the moment though…

it has a 2100 mh battery, that is an “extended battery” for most phones.

if i do not like this phone when the Razr HD comes out, then i’ll sell it, and buy the Razr HD out of contract. probably will cost me about a 100 bucks out of pocket.

I was a little vague I suppose. Ideally we are looking for a black female with some hunting lines, but more importantly a great family dog. We are open to travel for the right dog/price.

puppies vary greatly in price, and in genetics, which conjures up a lot of different opinions from different people.

one thing everyone agrees on though, is do NOT buy a pup from a breeder unless you get a full health guarantee, sire and dam have been cleared with OFA, Cerf, CNM, and EIC.

Any “breeder” that is unwilling to do those things, i would simply walk away from.

You should be able to find a fine dog in what you are looking for, in that $400-$1000 range.

    Good Luck!

also, one nice thing about the puppy classifieds on RTF (link i posted) is they require health clearances to post on their site.

I’m looking for a lab breeder, we are ready to add a member to the family. Thanks in advance.

thats kind of a loaded question…

    budget?
    distance willing to travel?
    color?
    any specific lines?
    hunting dog/trial dog/lapdog which one?
    size preferred?
what is important to you and your family in the potential dog you will be buying?

first off, i would start here, just to get a general idea of what you will be working with, and then go from there.

From the daily email I get, I seem to remember they decided to delay the tiered plans because of the uproar. It is coming though.

They are also dumping the loyal customer, new in 2 discount. When I got my Droid when it was coming out, I got like an extra $100 beyond what everyone else was getting. I’d think there would be more of an uproar over that. I think you will still get the normal discount for signing a 2 year deal like a new customer, but you would think they would throw you a bone if you have been with them for several years.

you still get discounted pricing on phones, but they now charge a $30 upgrade fee, and got rid of the “new every two” deal. the last credit they gave, they changed it to a “loyalty discount” and lowered it to $50.

That is why i asked for the $30 fee to be waived, since i already used my last $50 credit on my wife’s line.

even though they cost a little more, the customer service and phone service itself is so much better than anything else out there, i would have a hard time switching.

in fact, my employer uses sprint, and I could get any phone i want for free and also not pay a dime for use of the phone for work and personal, yet i still choose to keep verizon and just get a small reimbursement every month for my phone, which only covers about half the cost.

Sprint sucks in western MN and the dakotas.

Verizon just ended there double data 4G promotion on the 5th. That gave any body buying a 4G phone 4 gigs a month versus the 2G that you now get with the $30 data plan.
I’m sure it will be back sooner then later with all uproar about Verizon eliminating the unlimited data packages.

Now to go back and re-read how PHIGS is keeping unlimited data..

if you read the thread i linked, it explains it all. basically verizon is going to offer shared data plans for their shared phone plans, so not only will you share minutes, but also data. This will help with the cost of a data plan and currently having to have a separate data package on each line.

They have stated that once they offer the shared data, they are eliminating the grandfathered unlimited data plans on upgrades. this new data tier is supposed to be out the end of june or early july.

Which means, if you currently have a 3G phone with unlimited data, and you wait until after that data package change, they will NOT honor your unlimited data, and you will be forced to choosing one of the tiered data plans.

For those that upgrade to a 4G phone now, we will be locked in for at least two more years of unlimited data.

For those that upgrade to a new phone at full price, you also will retain your plan.

but like many others, i’m guessing this will be the last go-around for unlimited data. which means when my 2 year contract that i just extended ends, I will probably be forced to choose a tiered data plan.

So….if you have unlimited data and are planning on upgrading phones this year – do it now! so you get locked in for at least one more contract cycle.

If you currently have the phone that you plan on keeping for a while (the case with my wife who upgraded to a Razr this spring) then don’t worry about it. but be aware that the next time you upgrade you will face the same music as everyone else, in losing your unlimited data.

Now, when they actually unveil these shared data plans, who knows, maybe the cost factor of them will even out losing unlimited data for some.

but i’m not taking that chance, and am locking in now!
