I’m partial to Stormr Fusion gear for all weather. Difficult to find a location to try on, much like Simms. But you can buy them online at Cabelas or Bass Pro and I believe Kruger Farms have them as well.

Reed’s up on Leech Lake does carry them in their store.

Turn your fridge to its highest (warmest) setting and get yourself a fridge thermometer for a couple bucks. 45 -50 degrees seems to be the best. Once I did this the worms no longer go into hibernation mode and will continue to eat.

BK – whats your question on the Stormr gear? I have fusion suit and am very happy with them.

Nothing wrong with the east side. I stay out of stony point starting on Sunday for a week (dont like the madness of actual opener) and will be frequenting the east side a few times.

my go to’s for trolling with lead on leech are Rapala flat raps and original floaters in perch, gold black, blue white. Husky jerks at night. I think the rattles help then.

for us the week is about pike on the fly rod, so we target emerging weeds or old rush beds and rip jig for walleye while the other is tossing a fly for Mrs. Pike.

Is there any other mirror color for an amber lens besides green? Would prefer a silver/natural mirror for an amber lens if it exists…

Costa Silver mirror is copper lens, not amber that you are looking for. However, it might be close to what you are looking for. I have never tried on the silver mirror much less recall seeing them before.

I used amber lenses years ago when I drove motorcycle. Once I got my hands on a couple of different brands with copper, with different light transmission factors, I personally have no need for amber anymore.

    I have 400G in amber, 400G in green mirror/amber, and 580G in green mirror/copper. They’re all great. )

I think the above statement holds the key. I don’t believe the answer lies in the green vs. blue itself based on the concern that the OP has. Rather it is in the base.

They didn’t allow enough light when driving. Also, more importantly, if fishing in shaded area they had to be removed to see anything at all. However, when out ice fishing on bright days…they were great!

Based on the OP’s ‘issues’ with Blue mirror which only can have a grey base, I think the ‘need’ would dictate a copper or amber base. That leaves you only the Green Mirror in either amber or copper base or the amber/copper lens with no mirror.

I have had two 580G green mirror/copper (one at the bottom of mille lacs and the other my dog ate) and now have the 580G Blue Mirror and a pair of Keanon’s in copper lense no mirror. 580G Green Mirror copper is back on my x-mas list.

Bought my 5th wheel last spring from private party and when I went to transfer the title I had to pay the sales tax.

I drove an Ecoboost for 2 years after driving v8 150’s for 7 years prior to that. I am back in the v8 mostly because when I was looking for a new vehicle I couldn’t find an Eco in the extended cab vs. crew. It really depends on your driving habits and conditions. If you do the majority of your driving towing, then go V8. If your majority is hwy with no towing than Eco.

My next is likely to be a diesel.

suffix #10 is .008 diameter as is fireline #10. However, suffix #20 is still only .009.

The mono equivelant #10 on troll data is .014 diameter.

Berkley fire to mono conversion is then .006. Since your difference in fireline vs #20 suffix is .001, in comparison that is 16.6% of the difference between Berkley fireline and Berkley mono.

So for a given feet back on the chart, find the difference in depth between #10 mono and #10 fireline. Than take 16.6% of that and that is how much higher your #20 suffix will ride.

your difference in .008 and .009 going from #10 to #20 is minimal.

I guess I call the underside (parallel to ground) where you mounted the ducer the “step”. you might be right on your old transducer, I just have never seen a skimmer mounted like yours on a boat with a step. I have seen them at the bottom on the same edge as the drain plug and other water inlet/outlets and also as a shoot-thru hull type.

Best bet, call either of the skeeter boat center locations to confirm that it can be mounted where you have it. It isn’t the first time I would be wrong

What boat is that? I think I see a “step” in the transom that the ducer is mounted on rather than having one vertical plane on the transom. Ducer cannot be mounted on the step if you want it to register while on plane.

you need to run them in order and only one at a time to be legal. You can collect fees up front from all but not allowed to cash the next applicants fees unless the prior applicant did not pass background check/qualification. You also need to notify applicant that there are others that have already applied and that they. they may not want to write a check because of that.

People have their ways around this, but the law was put in place so that you don’t have 4 qualified renters but pick the cutest one which was the last one to apply

you mentioned summer. So I say trolling some sort of crankbait rather than jig or lindy.

That is if trolling is legal there, someone reminded me that it isn’t allowed on some waters.

Does anybody have pictures of these “locked storage” under the consoles some have installed?

I don’t have pictures but the original tray was replaced with a tray that sat on the same ‘lip’ but dropped another 2-3 inches on the inside of the lip. a hard plastic front was fixed to the side of the boat and bottom side of the console. It had a large opening with a door that could be totally removed. Latches were on the sides of the door much like the latches on the side rod locker, but they were a different brand. Door went on when trailering or running waves. otherwise he had it off.

Met the guy twice last year out of Stoney Point Campground at Leech Lake. Not sure where he is from but assuming he frequents Leech quite often.

Havent made any myself, but have seen the following:

    Locking compartments under consoles

Changing side rod locker brackets to have tubes – this took away their ability to have 10 footers in there though.

What I have been considering is replacing the white interior LED lights with red or green.

    the drain plugs are touchy.

This would be the first thing I would check. First time the invasive species checker dude didn’t see me put the plug in when I was solo up at Leech Lake, he decided to unscrew and verify there wasn’t water in my boat and then screw the plug back in. He told me he checked the plug and I didn’t think much of it. When on the water, every few minutes the bilge pump came on just as you described it and it was because the plug wasn’t screwed in tight.

    Never had an issue since.

Also, I believe these plugs are the same other manufacturers use as well

Why pull your graphs? If you have power at the dock then just leave them run overnight, I would think that would be better than fumbling around with frozen electrical connections full of frost in the morning?

pull your graphs because if they are in single digit temps, your not going to see anything except funky lines on your graph until the screens warm up. If they are warm when you start them up, they work and will continue to work when the screens cool to the outside temps.

And don’t forget to have some de-icer for you trolling motor if you have one.

    Common practice almost everywhere.

Just my .02 as a consultant in the retail industry. I don’t think “most” retailers are trying to ‘scam’ anyone. Most will honor the online price unless the online price is promotional in nature. Reason being is that most retailers have systems that cannot integrate together for the brick and mortar stores and online ‘virtual’ stores. It is common to see different groups in corporations maintaining the online prices than there are maintaining brick and mortar prices.

I work with several retailers that are trying to close that gap but throw in a million+ $$ price tag to do so and a soft economy for the past 5 years and you find most retailers opt to allow for price match instead and have the integration “fix” on their wish list.
