From our family to yours a heart felt sorry. We had to put our 10 yr old lab down due to overwhelming cancer. Hang in there and fall back on all the wonderful memories your pup has given you over the years. The length of time we have with our dogs pales in comparison to the impact they have on our hearts. May he hunt on forever!!!

Its taken me three years to talk my fishing partners into fishing mainly ringworms when we are at Lac Suel. We go the week after the 4th of july every year. While people are pulling 2oz spinners in 30 feet of water we are targeting 10′ cabbage beds or wind blown shorelines. We have absolutely the fish this way. Electric Blue glow tail is my favorite on any lake although purple has been good also. Do yourself and your boat a favor and leave the crawlers for the birds. You definitely do not have to go deep as many think for these mid summer fish. Pitching ringworms to depths of 3′-12′ on Lac Suel has worked for us. Best of Luck!!!

Dave, so sorry to hear about your loss. Such a difficult thing to go through. My wife and I parted ways with our ten year old choc. lab last spring due to his uncontrollable cancer. We think of him every day, as you will your beloved pet. We both shed some tears again by reading your post that brought us back to that difficult day. The one thing that eases our pain is to reflect on all of the wonderful experiences we were able to share with our loved one. I’m sure you and yours will do the same. Our thoughts are with you and your family.

EC Angler, the best way I have found is to breast the duck out and cut breast meat into 2 inch wide strips. After cutting meat roll cut meat and wrap with bacon. If you like it spicy add a jalapeno pepper that has been cut in half and seeded. We also like to fill our peppers with cream cheese. Grill on medium heat, we have found that when the bacon becomes crispy it is time to eat, dont be surprised if this duck tastes like filet mignon. (any duck)
