I can’t promise I will stay out of the water cause the wife says I need a shower. The 3″ is where I went for a moon lite swim last Saturday. The bridge is good to go we have two of them now. One made of wood and the other with the plates. The cold weather really helped settle things down.

The fishing is still great up along the north shore. I brought John and Ann owners of Beacon Harbor out on the boat and landed our limit and then some. We kept enough for a fresh walleye, sweet corn and potatoes dinner. The wind wasn’t to bad and the bite was good. We were trolling flicker shads #4 & #5 in four to seven FOW.

Outdoor Authority will be on the ice the next few days with updates as to how the ice is doing following the snow and weather changes.

The fishing started steady yesterday and stayed steady for most of the day. Lots of limits coming off the lake and also others that had their tails between their legs. Saturday as of 11:00am lots of happy customers with limits in their bucket. From what we are seeing the morning bite is the best bite with a nice steady bite the rest of the day. Red/pink and rattle is separating its self from the pack. Yesterday 7 FOW was the magic mark and today 8 and 9 FOW are heating up good. There was even a guy fishing 3′ down in 8 FOW with a gold hook, who caught two crappies.

We also have two man and three man houses on the lake this weekend. Unfortunately we are already booked for this weekend for them houses. Next weekend depending on the ice we are hoping to bring out a four man or two.

We are located out of Rogers Resort on the south shore of Upper Red Lake. Today marks the journey of the the 12×32 up to red lake. Once its up there and on the ground Al and I will be venturing out onto the ice. With the plan of taking video, pictures and documenting everything so that everyone can see just exactly what is going on. Now remember thats the plan and we will see how it comes together.

Its still early and the ice changes its mind more than anyone I know. I am not saying the ice is safe or to even go out there, let alone if there will be any out there. However, if you need a place to lay your head down next week we will have the houses available to rent with the ice ready or not on Nov 25th and 26th break for Thanksgiving and then from Nov 29th on threw Feb.

Rogers is accessible with a wheel chair. I know last year we had a customer in a chair and he got around good in there. Also if you need a place to stay we can help you guys out. If we need to we will make a ramp to get ya in a house. We also have some huge one 12×28 and 12×32 to accommodate you guys.

The past few days have been good to us. My self and Al stayed home and fished out of the hard sides. Al did better than I did landing a limit and a few smaller throw backs. I on the on the other hand only managed two keepers and no throw backs. Yesterday as Al went out scouting I stayed in the hard side and messed around with lures and drop rigs. I did manage to find something both the perch and walleyes like and its a SLENDER SPOON with either a bro blood worm, or plain red hook tipped with a fat head. Its just a blast watching fish that earlier wanted nothing to do with a jig come in look at it and take it. I ended yesterday with 6 eyes and two 12″ perch.

Last two weekends have been a good consistent bite through out all the houses. Last weekend renters down sized and picked up more than the guys not down sizing. Plain red hooks have been the best tipped with a fathead or rainbow. The smaller the minnow the better. Jigging hasnt been that hot but it has been bringing in the fish to hit the dead sticks. Still fishing 3 to 10″ off the bottom.

On another note while down sizing tackle one house picked up 3 10″ crappies in a day. Could this be a sign of a younger class of crappies coming up?

Its been slow. Spent some time in the portables and did ok. Dropped two groups off today and in two hours when I checked on them one group had three eyes landed and missed two more and the other had two eyes landed and two 11+ in perch landed. If the weather ever stabilizes it should be good.

The weather last week sure shut the fish right down. Even with the tuff fishing everyone went home with fish in the bucket. This week we are slow allowing plenty of portable time trying to find the hot bite. Gold has been working best with a touch of glitter. Dead sticks are still the top producer with yellow green plain hooks. We are looking forward to having Ben up from the IDO team this weekend.

This past weekend was a slow bite for most of the houses. Causing us to spend a bunch of time in the portables searching for the active fish. We picked up two limits in the portable and moved a few houses to the area. One house landed 18 in two days and the other 15. Its not a great bite but they were catching fish. We moved the houses again today and found a little better bite. The hot color is green plain hooks and if they want a jig its gold.

The last week the fishing slowed down for us. Al and Mike went out in the portables and found the fish and so we moved the houses today. The fishing wasnt limits for everyone but they are putting good numbers of fish in the bucket to bring home. Plain red hooks sitting 3 to 4″ off the bottom have been good along witht gold and red hooks. The Shinner bite slowed down and fat heads have been doing better.

Have been hearing a lot of fish stories of the big pike that got away. That was not the story for Andy today. He landed a 40″ Pike. We also had a 36″, 38″, and a 39″ northern landed this week. Sure is fun hearing the stories of the the big pike that was landed or got away.
