I have more energy than the typical human. I REALLY REALLY want to train myself. I am going to get that old book. And try. I was looking online and how the heck are “peer” breed labs around $1,500???

What if a lab made a baby with a spaniel? You’d get best of both worlds.

Anyone got a lead on a yellow lab? PUPPY?? I’m obsessed now. I spend my work breaks looking through photos of my new family member.

I just can’t handle this face

I’m pretty set now. Thinking yellow lab. One with a face like this…

Thank you guys so much for all this feedback.

At 49 days or 10 weeks, whatever the case may be. That SUCKS! I would miss all of puppyhood?

49 days old. I want the leader of the pack. And all this and now that i can have a dog. I’m getting one. And if it doesn’t take that’s ok. When I said I did bird hunting last year it was grouse. So I just found out by RRR…
Just trying to keep the family happy. Dogs are special to me. Just want to make A decision based on all your experiences and expertise. I’ve gotten more than I could ask for. Thank you.

I’m not trying to get a “deal” on a dog for monetary reasons. I honestly just want a dog that needs a happy home. And like you’ve all mentioned, I’ll find a breed that has the capabilities of being a hunting dog.
Dang this is great feedback thank you!

Very VERY! Good point. Chamberschamps. Water and endurance. And yes the only experience I’ve had with pits alike are the nanny types. Awesome. Beautiful dogs!

Yea! And brittneys are sweet I had one growing up. Good call.

Also. Glad we’re on the same page about how training should be done. Thank god! Crushed my heart when I heard that. Thank you! Now I’ve got good IDO ammo to back that up.

I remember when I was a little nugget my dads friend had a dog that was always outside and he wouldn’t let me pet it because it was a “hunting dog”
Yea… All I heard was pet and play when no ones looking. And no one knew the difference. ;)

Seriously. You guys are big help

Good point both thank you! Yes. Honestly I want a dog that’s a family dog myself. But can also be a good hunting dog.

I heard the quote “the only way to train a hunting dog is with a 2×4” please tell me that isn’t true. If that’s what the trainer does I can’t go through with that. So that’s why I want a dog that if it doesn’t hunt. That’s fine. He/she will be a good snuggle buddy & family member, either way. I just don’t particularly want a lab-ish type of dog. But would love it the same if it happened to be the case

    Thank you guys.

Jake, you are not alone! … I think in the next couple days – weeks walleye will be back in action.. I think the walleye chicks are finding good food somewhere just not where we are fishing…

The only time they’re guaranteed not to bite is when you’re lure is not in the water.

I’ll go out any time I can, which isn’t very much as of late with a newborn at home, but I check the solunar tables before I go out every time. If there’s a major or minor happening, I make sure I’m on a spot that I know holds fish during that time.

    WORD!!!

I used to plan my month around solanar forecasts. Moon rise and set. If it was a 4 star day. With plus signs… I was definitely fishing.
But. I realized the very few fish I’ve caught were on average days (per solanar predictions) and highly predicted days I wouldn’t even see them.
For example today is a GREAT DAY TO FISH according to predictions. But it’s flipping beautiful outside. No clouds, wind, weather…
    WEATHER TRUMPS THE MOON
I do believe in the tables. And hear there are other more accurate ones people have from the Muskie old timers. Like on paper… Not in the internets.

There’s probably more too. Last year Wikipedia said 150. But that includes fish we don’t catch here anymore. Although There are many more that we prob have coming.

I heard Stru raises money by auctioning a kiss for $1 at the fair. I’d go just to see that! ;)

I think sometimes dogs do that something OCD-ish. Stress related maybe? I will find out more. Poor girl (

What have the vets told you the cause/issue is?

My dad’s dog was that age he did the same thing. He was a black lab. Those sores when they get older.

Or maybe call a couple vets and express your frustration in hopes someone will actually help her
