Chris!!!!!! That was crazy awesome, and brings back some great memories! Can’t wait to get up there this spring!!
February 17, 2012 at 3:26 am #1039972Great choice Chris. I was just back at my folks house yesterday visiting my old hunting partner, also a female Chocolate named Maggie and thinking about how great it used to be when she was young enough to hunt. Just a fair warning though, next week when I bring Kelly up there to fish, if your puppy is missing…. I have a sneaking suspicion she will be holding it like a dang baby….
February 8, 2012 at 1:47 am #1036503Great advice Chris, I will have to try some of this new line also. Hopefully you’ll have those crappies, or even some big fish lined up for me and Kelly on the 21st. Can’t wait to get up there for a second winter trip!!!!!!!
January 23, 2012 at 12:26 am #1031002Great video Chris! Glad to see some of that footage turned out, what an exciting couple of days it was, thanks again!
January 18, 2012 at 2:00 am #1029209Dang Chris, now you got my mind thinking open water already…. It’s going to be a long wait until then now… Keep those boys on the big fish until then!
January 16, 2012 at 2:36 am #1028282It was truly awesome to be in the shack with Ryan as he hooked into that beast, the look on his face was priceless to say the least when he realized what he just did! After the couple minutes he was fighting it as I was ready to land the beast, Ryan got a glimpse of it and we gave it a second thought, “It’s time to get Chris”, I suggested and Ryan quickly agreed. Our faithful guide sprinted over and dove in the shack like he was reliving some childhood dream of stealing home base. Then he was face to face with a big pike as I shot a amateur video from over the shoulder of him trying, and then succeeding at pulling the fish through a hole that wasn’t quite big enough. The excitement level for us was unreal and the high fives and fist bumps started instantly. Got some awesome pics that Ryan won’t be able to forget, and of course made a excellent release to let this fish grow for someone else.
I can only start to say how good the trip was even though the bite may not have been stellar. We all caught nice fish, either walleyes or pike, and I think Chris and I both missed a fish or two that may have caused some lost sleep… It was very fun sharing the shack with such a knowledgeable and “sometimes” comical guide for a couple days. Thanks again Chris for the excellent service from start to finish!
For any of you who follow these forums or see the action on the Rainy Lake forum, I know you’re all thinking of giving Chris a call and I strongly suggest! This was my fourth trip with Rainy Daze Guide Service, and I know I will be locking in a annual winter trip from here on out to ad to my open water trips. Guaranteed good times will be had!
I will try to get my video clip to Chris soon for some slight editing and hopefully it can make it up here for some good laughs for all!
Thanks again Chris, can’t wait to get back there in May!!
January 3, 2012 at 4:15 am #1023757RainyDaze Guide Service IS the BEST! You’ll get more than you bargained for guaranteed fishing with Chris! Head to Rainy Lake my friend.
January 3, 2012 at 3:56 am #1023749Nice work boys!! This is getting me real fired up Chris!!!!!! I can’t wait to get up there
January 3, 2012 at 3:49 am #1023748Love it Chris! Your the man, and truly understand why we are all out there soaking baits, usually not just for the fish but for the time we spend out there away from everything else. I know your friend is watching down sending a few bigger fish your way to brighten your days. We all need to enjoy the time we get out in the field more and make memories that won’t be forgotten. I wish only big fish to your clients and ourselves in a few weeks! Right on buddy!!!
June 10, 2011 at 2:22 am #972317Chis, your new website kicks butt! Forget the royalties, I fully suspect a full time position on the guiding payroll opening for me withing maybe 5 years?
June 1, 2011 at 2:48 am #970182Chris, Just want to thank you again for the great trip. Couldn’t have asked for a better time and great fishing. From the antics of our dads, to the fish we missed only to wonder about, it’s truly a trip I can’t wait for again next year. Maybe we will be lucky enough to find out what a few of those tankers we missed were. I would like to see you do another net reversal when a big walleye shakes the hook right at boat side, may be hard to out do that one! And yes, the Sha Sha Resort better be prepared next year when we show up again, what a great spot just down the road. Don’t worry I won’t post any of those pics, ha.
If any of you fellow fishermen haven’t been on a trip with Rainy Daze, I strongly suggest you make one of the better fishing investments you could and book one. You won’t regret the knowledge you’ll soak up, and the fish you will catch. We have had a blast three years in a row now, and I guarantee next years weekend is already booked. Hopefully I can squeeze in one or two more weeks into the schedule before that! Thanks again for the hospitality and great one liners buddy! Until next time, may the holes in your net be no larger than the fish you bring into it! Tight lines!
March 26, 2011 at 1:41 am #950757Fished from 3 pm. to 7 pm yesterday. Bite was slow but I can’t say I didn’t miss a few pretty good hits. Ended up with a few decent fish and my partner wasn’t so lucky… Great first trip in the boat for the year and was a little exciting with the ice coming down the river. Fish were caught in 2′ to 15′ of water on blades and jigs. Water temp was 34.4-35.1 everywhere we fished. Good luck boys!
January 8, 2011 at 3:18 am #923987Chris, SERIOUSLY??? I don’t know if you would have been able to handle John and I if we would have been luck to been with for this one. That is a true beauty! I can not wait for our annual trip this spring!!!!! Hats off to you!
August 10, 2010 at 12:11 am #892063I believe my dad was assuming that position for our outings…until he said “i just about had an ugly moment”, after he almost dropped my ugly stick over the side of the boat. and he wonders why I don’t let him use my high dollar rods….
July 8, 2010 at 2:13 am #885234that looks like a good time. my old man is wondering if you have to be a kid and if you are allowed to troll off the tube?
June 22, 2010 at 2:41 am #881787way to get the youngster on some fish, I’m kind of disappointed you let him drive the skeeter after you shut me down….

Hey Nate,
I picked up a guide’s brochure at FleetFarm the other day
and I’m pretty sure your smiling face is pictured inside
it. Is that you or your twin brother? The guide’s name
kinda rhymes with mine.Don’t worry…………..I won’t tell RD your cheatin on
him.
ha, yeah thats my ugly mug next to my fiance. I think the pic only made it in the brochure because she was in it. who doesn’t like the look of a cute blonde holding walleyes? we go out with him yearly also on a trip to Brainerd I make with my fiance’s family every year. seems i like to catch fish most anywhere but notice the size difference with those compared to Daze! definitely not in manland in Brainerd. Trust me, we’d make the trip to the falls instead if only they had an array of golf courses closer for the rest of the family.
June 4, 2010 at 7:23 pm #877418oh it happened, now the Rapala is hanging on the wall with a nice picture since the fish is still swimming, GETTING BIGGER!
“oh boy thats a big fish, and he’s ANGRY!” darn near tried to rip your arm off ChrisJune 4, 2010 at 3:18 am #877205Nicely done boys! Pretty awesome when your just throwing back the 25’s quickly to try to get a “bigger” one for a picture. Looks like there was no shortage of sunshine either, I’m sure your taking on a pretty savage tan Chris.
June 2, 2010 at 2:44 am #876647It was simply awesome to rally during such a “big fish parade” with you Chris. It was like we were just driving around throwing walleye candy out of the boat and they were snatching it up faster than 5 year-olds on the fourth of July. We had such a great time this year, John and I couldn’t stop brainstorming on how we’re going to get back up there soon during our ride home. Talk about a quality fishery, you earned me two new PB’s for my books among countless other quality fish. I have my broken Rapala from the big pike hanging on the wall already, just need the great pic to put above it. What a riot!
I can’t get over the first class guide service Chris gave us. I strongly recommend that everyone takes a trip with this guy at least once in their fishing career. You won’t regret it and will probably want to make it a yearly tradition like us. From the knowledge of techniques and plain knowhow on catching BIG fish, this guy is the man. Not to mention the great atmosphere of spending time in the boat with good company on such a beautiful lake. I think most of the time it was flying so much we were knee deep in stories and jokes. If you’re looking for a great time and to catch some awesome fish, give RainyDaze a call. Can’t wait until next year (or sooner) to get back up there. And I’ll let you know when I sell my house so you can have the boys at Skeeter set me up with a sweet ride.
May 26, 2010 at 1:28 am #874972working cranks and live bait along weedlines is always a great option in this neck of the woods. also don’t be afraid to throw cranks shallow on windblown shorelines. try 2-12′ for your best bet. can be a hassle pulling off so many weeds but the other casts you’re bound to be pulling off fish….
May 26, 2010 at 12:47 am #874954Thats what we like to hear my friend! I’m fired up to get there tomorrow night. Can’t wait to lace into something in the north country for a few days. I got my camera fully charged!
May 8, 2010 at 12:59 am #870426awesome mounts, can’t wait to see them in person in a few weeks. the countdown is on for me and John! oh yeah, and the dads… we’re ready for a good time and even better fish my friend! shoot me an email chris, [email protected], i’d like to hash out a few details before we make our final plans for the way up. thanks
April 21, 2010 at 2:42 am #865569dang nice ride my friend. +1 on backing that up your beast of a driveway. i can barely make it up there on foot.
don’t worry when we’re in that baby Johnny will fend off anyone who comes to close with his slip bobber bullets!
April 16, 2010 at 3:30 am #864320I can run a chainsaw and swing an ax with the best of them, but i was thinking more of building you a dock worthy of tying the new Skeeter up to. Don’t know if that one you had can handle too many more stumbles from my old man out of the boat!
April 14, 2010 at 2:49 am #863595dude your killing me, how many trips can i make next year, May with the boys? January for big ice pike?, March slabbers? and now spring pigs? I’m gonna have to work double time! Thanks for the schedule again, and can’t wait to slime up your new boat. It’s all John and I can think about.
April 11, 2010 at 4:33 am #862797hey chris, looking forward to getting up there in May again with Geno, John and my old man. Just looking to find out the dates for sure that we are locked in. Seems Geno nor my dad can remember exactly what days you have us booked? a little help would be greatly appreciated and don’t worry, we’ll make sure to have plenty of the Dr. ready to celebrate another PB for one of us. Thanks again, and can’t wait to take a ride in the new Skeeter.
