I have not fished Black Duck lake but I know people who have and they did well on Eyes, Perch and very nice Crappies.

Scott, Yep its been pretty busy with the good early ice. You’ll have to make a trip up. Im headed to Dincau’s on sat to deliver some jumbos that I mounted for him.

Jack, Im talking about Walleyes, sorry didnt mean to get you excited I think its pretty early for the Crappies. We did really well in feb and march last year, infact we fished til april 10th.

They are leaving tomorrow and Im sure they caught alot more. I really couldnt tell you how many we got when I was up for 6 days!

Yes Sir ! Those were the days. The Crappie meeting at noon in the cabin and a few dead soldiers later and the fun had begun!

Russ, you should have stopped by last weekend. I was up til tues fishing with Tyler. All eyes no Crappies yet for me.

I think trucks will make it this weekend. Im not so sure about the following one though.

Its getting to the time of year for Pike. Ive had the best luck trolling spoons on the last break which is in the 4-7 ft range. It seemed last year that the hotter it was the better. I know some people with lake maps have found success on the small structure around the lake for walleye. Remember that a 2 ft change in the bottom on Red is considered structure. Good Luck. If the arctic blast stays a while there could be light vehicle traffic this weekend. Be sure to check with local resorts first though!

Hillman’s road is in good shape as of monday the 3rd. The fish continue to bite durring the day and evening.

The growths are probably from the virus Lymphocystis. They appear durring high stress to the fish, such as spawn time. They usually fall off with in a year. The virus is harmless to humans.
