    Why are the weights down so much this year?? I suppose with the increased number of boats fishing the tournaments now, we are killing tons of fish and the quality bass are nearing extinction.

    Lawrence was simply stating he’d like to practice with his link, and he would keep his mouth shut about what he learned in practice. Meaning, he wouldn’t inform the boater he drew for the actual tournament.

    The lower the gear ratio, the more power period. Check out the Revo Winch it’s like a 5.4 to 1. You would think a high speed retrieve like a burner would make sense because it takes in line faster, Something to keep in mind also would be the amount of use us northerners put on our reels compared to the pros. Although I used a tour edition burner on a C rig setup last year and burned out the gears after about a month??? So I guess the conclusion would be if you can get away with using a burner without “burning out the gears” go nuts. When was the last time any of you guys were trying to flip in a 8lber out of a mat of hydrilla?

    OK OK OK Tournament anglers maybe didn’t invent the idea, I guarantee B.A.S.S. anglers were in the forefront in promoting idea. I still think the general public feels that if you catch a fish, you eat it right?

    I have question for all you guys that hate tournaments or think they should be illegal. Do you truly hate what it does to the fish and the fishery or do you dislike the guys that are fishing them? I think everyone should remember If It wasn’t for the tournament anglers catch and release wouldn’t even exist. I suppose we could all go out fishing keep our best five, weigh them, see who had the biggest catch of the day, then have a big ol fish fry!!!!!

    It was just a few years ago all the big sticks said FLW was the way to go…..but when you look at all the big names fishing the Elite series, It’s easy to see where the superstars fish.

    I bought two All Star Select rods from [censored] last year, used them all last year mostly for casting lures, I had no problems, I would actually buy a few more if i could find them.
