I agree very few. Less than 50? I have been keeping very accurate records since 2001 to date on walleyes we have caught on a spreadsheet. This includes water and air temps, bp, moon phase, time, wind, lures, speed, etc. I track every walleye from sept thru end of november. Lots of work, yes but the information is priceless. In that time span I have had 3 walleyes from 30″ to 30.5″ on my boat. One in 2010 and two last year a 30.25″ and my personal best a 30.5″. We are pretty hard core and like big crappie have seen many up to that 30 mark over the years but they seem to disappear once they hit that mark and I do not know why. The ones we caught were healthy fish?

November 10, 2006 at 4:58 pm #498278Thanks Derek, thanks guys. Yes, what a night, 18 in all with 9 going 27 to 29! Pic 2 G-man is holding his current best at 28.5.
September 24, 2006 at 9:23 pm #482072Mike, we had about the same thing going. Fished Rock/weeds until 1:30am with 5 going from 20.5 to 23 with a 34 inch Pike. Missed a couple, including my first fish, forgot to check my drag….rookie mistake. How about the Northern lights. Pretty cool from what we could see of them. Beautiful night to be out indeed. We expected the worse and had very pleasant conditions.
December 30, 2005 at 1:32 am #407600Scott, I sold my LX-3 and picked up an LX-5 yesterday……..oh my!! Have you had a chance to play with the 8 degree cone on steep drops yet? I imagine the dead spot is greatly reduced.
November 29, 2005 at 2:43 am #399678Thanks for the update Scott! I have my return#. Gotta love Marcum.
November 21, 2005 at 1:05 am #398054Mike W. From what I know the tulibee spawn on the shallow rocks, not weeds. This year we have been finding plenty of smaller fish in the weeds and 90% of our big fish, 26″ and over on the rocks. The weird thing is we caught many more big fish last year in the same locations, including the weeds. I presume it is due to the warmer water temps we had so late this year and maybe the increase in competition from the smaller fish. The bigger fish must have stayed out longer or moved to different spots that I am hitting. I guess I need to add a few more spots for next year. I have been tracking detailed data the last 5 years on my fish and the water temps were roughly 7 degrees warmer this year than last up to this week.
November 5, 2005 at 3:04 pm #394484Castaway It would be pandamonium out there, especially in our new moon phase.
November 2, 2005 at 12:27 am #393455Mike W I messed up. We are heading out tomorrow night. New moon. Shoot us a report.
Thanks
November 1, 2005 at 2:33 am #393277Mike W, I have a glow rouge, hasn’t been wet yet, but I have wondered the same thing. Maybe have to give it a swim. I will be up on Tuesday night as well. Black Lund, Black Dakota Quad Cab. What are you driving?
December 5, 2004 at 1:50 am #330343Hey Scott, I stopped by the Marcum booth at Icefishing Show late Friday night and just missed you. I talked to Paul for a bit. Preorded my Lakemaster LOW chip and drooled over the OVS 560. Hoping to get to the Shoe in 2 weeks. We may be heading to LOW next weekend.
September 8, 2004 at 3:01 am #320288CrawlerKing that’s pretty darn awesome this time of year. Any tips you want to share? Are you fishing rocks, weeds, sand or a combination? Sounds like you will do fine in that tournament.
September 7, 2004 at 2:27 am #320163Thanks for the updates guys. I figured it might be a tough weeekend. Looks like the temps will finally start to drop this week. Let’s hope for some great fall action soon!
July 23, 2004 at 5:44 pm #313930Scott, nice report! I will have to give her a try tomorrow. As usual, the big Gils and all Smallies go back. Scott I sent you PM. Thanks.
July 14, 2004 at 7:03 pm #312693Thanks Guys. I trolled over MANY big fish. I wish I could have stayed longer to find another fish or 2. My camera was dead and I was lucky enough to find a boat close by that had a Polaroid camera. I always seem to be solo when I tag a big mama.
July 13, 2004 at 8:58 pm #312498Hey guys. I was out Saturday early morning in the fog and in 2.5 hours missed one and finally caught one fish……But she hit the tape at 29.75 inches! Caught it out in the deep nowhere about 100 feet from the edge of the flats out in 35 feet, suspended a good 5-8 feet off the bottom. I worked a pod for another hour with no results. Spinner/Leech combo on an inline sinker.
July 12, 2004 at 7:29 pm #312283Skeeter, after the water temps climbed to the mid 70’s I lost the Walleye bite where I was at. Way down by the 71 bridge and beyond. Sounds like they are hanging in the weeds. I didn’t make it up there last week, so I will have to start the search all over again.
July 2, 2004 at 2:29 pm #311044Scott, yep, that was my plan “B”. I found the size went up in the current areas. Had a great day last weekend with a mixed bag of Crappie and Walleyes. The Crappie were 10-12 and I got a few ‘Eyes in the 15-20 inch range. Of course the Cats were snapping in the same area.
June 26, 2004 at 2:18 am #310111Skeeterzx180, I found a few nicer ‘eyes on opener around the “trough” by Hammers Point. 21.5 and a 21 of which went back. I’ve been back a couple times and they are gone…..Lots of little guys everywhere along with all the smallies, pike, and cats. Tomorrow I go to plan B and head back to the early Spring spots. It has been tough.
January 23, 2004 at 8:10 pm #289861Marcus, did you get a chance to get the odmeter readings to “Stone Henge” ?
