Great as always.
Love the pic of the fawn and buck. What is the story behind that pic?

July 27, 2007 at 1:32 pm #594572I am trying to plan a trip to Bay de Quinte this fall.
Also called “The Bay of Pigs”June 14, 2007 at 1:48 pm #580543I am heading to Horwood lake in eastern Canada tomorrow (Friday) with my brother
Kind of special to me. First time I am going with just my brother. Dad is not going, not because he is unable to get in and out of the boat – Just because he is a pain in the butt. I love him but the older he gets the bigger pain he seems to become.
I am really looking forward to time with my brother. I hope you enjoy the time with your son.
April 26, 2007 at 1:23 am #564829I know I am cheap , but I use the 6 foot 6 inch Berkley Cherrywood rod. (I bought it clearanced for $15). I match it with a Mitchell Avocet reel.
I mainly bobber fish though.March 20, 2007 at 8:16 pm #551038Thanks eyehunter for the update. My buddy said he didn’t catch anything on Saturday either. Keep us informed if anything changes.
Thanks again
February 28, 2007 at 2:59 pm #542671Thanks for the update eyehunter. I have been getting the tackle & tacklebox ready for the 16th.
After hearing about the floods, I was wondering do you think they will drop the river very fast after that? Just curious.
February 18, 2007 at 7:35 pm #538478I am pretty sure it is in the latest issue of Essox Angler/The Next Bite. It is from Europe and the guy published the picture without details just to get people talking. It looks like it worked.
January 24, 2007 at 5:57 pm #527277You know why Iowa doesn’t have a professional basketball team?
If we get one, then Minnesota will want one!
January 23, 2007 at 2:49 pm #526389Funny you should ask that. I was wondering the same thing and our local paper (the Telegraph Herald in Dubuque) had a 1/2 page article on proper flag proceedures on Sunday.
Sure enough, 30 days after the passing of a president.December 13, 2006 at 2:26 pm #510615It is a nice kill, but I hear it was raised in a 2 acre woodlot with high fences.
November 28, 2006 at 9:06 pm #504391I went fishing yesterday and starting putting her away last night. I will finish the job tonight.
My wife keeps telling me to quit fishing so I can spend some time Christmas shopping. Apparently my four boys want something for Christmas other than a fish
Putting the boat away is more painful than I thought
You’re right – a SAD DAY!Mr Twister
November 28, 2006 at 2:03 pm #504128I got out for 2 1/2 hours last night. Caught several dinks and 3 keepers. I also caught a 12 and a quarter inch crappie on my jig that weighed 1.2 pounds. Anyway, lots of people catching fish at the mouth of O’Leary’s and off the barge. Several nice fish caught. Nothing spectacular, but fairly consistent fishing. Orange jigs did well. Firetiger also produced. It looked like people on the barge were using a bead and plain hook with minnow on a 3 way.
Just thought I would give a quick follow up report.

November 27, 2006 at 4:28 pm #503699Thanks for the update eyehunter.
I am heading out today, but may focus on panfish. Depends on the grass. Might be my last trip for a while. Wife thinks I should be Christmas shopping
I’ll report if there is any good news!

November 20, 2006 at 6:36 pm #501377Very, very few weeds on Friday.
Very few weeds on Saturday.
A couple boats ran over the Wisc. side (not us) while we were there and when they came back, they said they hadn’t caught anything over there. I also noticed only 2-3 people fishing on the barge both days. It might have to do more with the flowage of the river right now. [That would be my guess.] Iowa side has more current and flowage this year. But – I am just guessing.Mr Twister
November 20, 2006 at 1:57 pm #501258I am thankful to God for..
1. My wife and kids.
2. My parents – especially Dad who takes me fishing.
3. There is no ice yet in my fishing holesMr Twister
November 20, 2006 at 1:53 pm #501255I was out Friday morning and Saturday morning both. On Friday a buddy and I caught 5 keeper sauger in 4 hours. Saturday morning was extremely slow and we caught 2 fish in 4 hours. There were about 12 boats out on Saturday morning and we did the best of anyone out there. I have been pulling double rapalas in flo. red, firetiger, blue and hot steel. I keep switching around colors but it really doesn’t seem to make much difference.
There have been days over the past couple weeks where it has been awesome fishing. I don’t know about Sunday, but this weekend wasn’t too great. The fish we did keep were nice big fat sauger. The biggest being 19 1/2 inches.Hope that helps,

Now if I could get them to leave the rotten tomatoes at home …Also, is it me or does this sound like the set up to a “redneck” joke.
